Hi Tony I like your videos that focus on these small Stag foibles such as the door mirrors! As a tall driver I struggled to get the door mirror usable, it just doesnt have enough adjustment, and in the end cut some rubber wedges out of an old shoe sole to insert between the stem and the mounting post to change the angle. I had tried the large washer/spacers that you can buy but I found these pushed the mirror further out of the stem so I couldn't get the screw back in to secure it. Keep up the good work! Cheers, Brian.

That hexagonal head on the shaft behind the mirror frame is how you adjust them. There's quite a wide angle of 4 way tilt, and rotational adjustment. It's a ball and socket type adjustment, usually with a thin nylon cup under friction tension, similar to an interior mirror. It should be hand movable, when correctly set up and the parts aren't missing or worn. The hexagon nut is nipped up just enough to grip, but not solid. I'd guess the back frame is dented and twisted because the adjuster nut has been tightened solid. Then someone has forced the mirror head to move to suit them.

Hi Tony, as you already know I do not have a kind word to say about these mirrors. I purchased new Tex mirrors from Rimmer's to replace my non standard mirrors as the mirrors were getting a bit tatty. The quality and design is poor with nowhere near enough adjustment for them to even work as rear vision mirrors. As you can see from your video the countersunk screw that secures the head of the mirror to the stem is too long and bottoms out, therefore the screw does not seat in the stem correctly. I emailed both Rimmer's and Rex on more than one occasion complaining about the various issues with my new mirrors and I did not receive a reply from either of them. I wished I had kept the old mirrors on the car but having drilled bigger holes in the door to fit the new mirrors this is no longer an option. I have managed to get the new mirrors to work with some creative ingenuity but I should not have had to do this.
