There is an ad on Ebay at the moment selling a blue Triumph 2000 that has a Stag engine. A bit of both worlds!l. Triumph 3000!

Yep as iv said before in the garages the 2000, and stag came tops Quirkiness , being easy to get on with , nice smooth engines joy to drive , took a lot to beat ,

I do regret selling my Triumph 2.5pi it was an early 150bhp, manual with Overdrive, they were a big step up from the twin carburetor models

Speaking from NZ , seventies cars drove on leaded fuel , so more get up and go .Drivers didn't have an actual 5th speed (not including overdrive) so revving the engine to 4 and half and go backwards through the gears a lot. Triumph 2000 TC actual faster than 2.5TC low down some due to domed pistons. I have owned 5 ( 3 autos & 2 manuals)2.5TC's and experienced a lot of stuff over 20 years including a half shaft snapping at 50mph .

Hello TR Tony, Thought I’d ask you if you know of anyone that does the wood trim kits for the stags center console. The center console that surrounds the gear gate and window switches is starting to wear and I’d like to get it replaced. Are you familiar with any companies that make them?

Hi TR Tony, I agree entirely - both the Stag and the 2500S exude a British gentlemanliness also found in Rovers and Bentleys but not in Jaguars (rakish) or Mercedes (arriviste). My father's Wolseley 6/110 had this British je ne sais quoi too, but BLMC never followed that up - the Austin 3-litre never really cut the mustard (sadly, because I adore them, but there we are).
