I travelled in Sweden, Norway and Danmark with my Street triple 675 in 2016, and I really loved the bike.... Because I commute about 150 km's a day (kilometers, because I'm from Belgium :-)) I bought me a Tiger 800 in march 2017. By now (8 months later) I did about 20.000 km's, and also took a 4000km - trip through the Alps. And how much I love the Tiger.... I still miss the Street triple. I tested the new 765RS a few months ago, and I immediately remembered the reason why I started, and still love, riding a bike.... I know the tiger is perfect for commuting (especially in the winter), but I can't get over the street triple.... what a dilemma! I really don't want to buy 2 bikes.By the way, I really loved the review, watched it 2 times ! :-)
Not a lot of youtube videos are worth 25 minutes these days, but this was definitely was. A trip to be added to any enthusiast's bucket list without a doubt. Good job @MCN
Fantastic video. The way you tell it is spot on, have a Street Triple R myself but this thing looks incredible!! Thanks for the video and the efforts you all put into it!
Just who is this guy.?? What an amazing review of the roads and the machine. Amazing scenery and a super story. I've just watched this from end to end an all I wanna do now is book some transport and go do it myself. Keep up the fantastic work,, motorcycling at its best..
Excellent work, Joe! Thoroughly enjoyed the video and the report on MCN, would you guys mind sharing your route map somewhere? Now I just have to find out how to ship my 765 RS across the pond from West Coast US to Europe, lol...
Little curiosity: the road at the colle del Nivolet is supposed ti take you into nature - that Is the whole point of the road. Anyway I've been there last August with the 2020 RS and I loved every Moment of that trip. Cheers :)
Just done a trip all the way round Spain on my street triple RS with 3 other mates and apart from a 3 day stay at Benidorm we headed for mountain areas to camp, it was by far the best bike trip I have ever done in my 39 years of motorcycling, great roads, views, weather and of course a superb piece of machinery to ride it on, we covered almost 3000 miles. You are right about the wind blast but we stuck to the speed limits anyway, perhaps when more aftermarket parts become available I will get a taller screen. Excellent video and thanks for posting it. Or we don't want to watch this guy complaining about rain for 5 minutes in a supermarket or wait 8 minutes for video footage of the bike which we came here to see. What an idiotic comment.
I was so infatuated with the bike and the stunning scenery that I'd genuinely forgotten that I'd been watching a review update! Brilliant, mate! Seriously incredible.
Awesome job, excellent video you've really stepped up the game for MCN. Look forward to your next one, you've also sold me a set of tyres for my Daytona 675 I'm going to tour the South Island of NZ this Summer. Cheers
Idk what it is about Joe, but I love watching his reviews. He just seems to genuinely love riding and comes off as just a normal guy you would run into on the street. Hope to see more from him.
What an amazing review. The best review ever. Keep it up. And please can anyone name the tracks used in this video. Keep it up MCN. This guy is perfect for this job. BTW sick bike, sick shots.✌️👍
My RS in 4500km: -Slight coolant leagage (bolts not tightened to 10Nm...) -"Check engine light" (oxidation on the brake light connector under the fuel tank) -Clutch lever adjuster spring lost its tension, saw the adjusted wheel turn by the wind blast while on the Autobahn. -Clutch lever didn't fully return to resting position. It grinded a little against the housing, the debris that came off made the action move heavily. All quickly fixed (even while on vacation in Germany) while I had a drink at the dealership. And still ... absolutely LOVE that bike :D
Nothing stopping you Mathieu! I literally packed some panniers and went, as you can see. No real forethought in it other than going to look for some great riding roads. :) - Joe
Eoghan Hennessy totally agree the ride down is also part of the adventure and the experience. Plus more miles under you and the bike to get to know each other. Lol
its refreshing to see a bike reviewer take some time and pride in their work and show us the full capabilities of a bike. I just bought this bike from watching this video, thanks a lot man if your ever down in wales ill show you some roads to ride. Good work mate.
Just looked into using Bike Shuttle to go to Toulouse. Unfortunately they're another company who fell to the Brexit deal. How annoying, but worse for them.
What are your thoughts with the Street RS against the Speed RS? I'm torn and having rode a Street a couple of years ago and currently living with a big twin I'm thinking I'd probably miss the torque. Which would you choose and why? Cheers, Richard
I hear that ya liked the diablo rosso tires, I do too, but have you tried the Dunlop Roadsmarts? If so what did you think? When I was running roadsmart on my old mk1 bandit they worked flawlessly even on track, especially when it was wet/wettish. But the rosso tires felt more like its big brothers to me when I pegged to the max. Although it was on a rvf400 though so no direct 1:1 comparison. But my all time fav tires must be Dunlop sportmax 1 rear tire(more racy than second gen which I was disappointed with) and sportmax2 tire at front becasue of the pointy profile at front, I never liked any pirelli tires on my d675 as they felt to slippery on wet surface compared to dunlops. But yeah on track pirellis rocked. Nice feeling you got there in this long term update video :)
I’ve watched this video several times! What an amazing job! Could you tell me what road you mentioned that was in France with the view of the snow capped mountain?
iv done the alpes in 2015, Val d'isère and Italy border, it's awesome place, you are welcoming the summers with other motorcyclist and it's cheap to stay there. In 2016 i did the picos de europa in spain, amazing roads, good temperature and good, scenery, more unknow than alpes but still enjoyable, better for roads quality in my opinion
From what I could hear there was, Nivolet Pass Stelvio Pass Grande St. Bernard pass Furka pass - Planned to go, but didn't St. Gotthard pass - Planned to go, but didn't Col de Joux Plane Only saw your comment 10 minutes in, so I may have missed some from earlier on.
As a Triumph lover, I've owned a Triumph Explorer, a Tiger 1050 and a Speed Triple R. I've never been a fan of the Street Triple's looks to be honest but have to say this is probably the best looking so far, and it sounds fantastic! Good video, a little different from the usual stuff that's out there.
Excellent video - and puts to bed the idea the RS is just a track day bike. Bikesure - would be good if you write this up in mcn to have some idea of the practicalities - especially the costs of using Bikesure and how easy it was to arrange/problems.
Wauw guys...really amazing movie and great story about going out there and seeking the adventure. Also real nice to share such adventure with an old friend. I went for a little adventure myself yesterday after work where i decided to go on the search for some new roads only to find myself on a familiar road a little later. I live in The Hague and decided to go South along the shoreline towards Hoek van Holland. As a kid I would take the ferry from Hoek van Holland to harwich to visit family for Christmas. And without knowing where I was really heading I found myself driving on the exact same road (dike to be precise) that I had been on so many times heading towards of from the ferry... pretty special. After which I found some lovely b roads with some big roundabouts for some cornering action as far as that goes on a roundabout. Would love some more video's like this one in the near future! All the best!
At 9:50 ... It looked like the 'wall' of game of thrones! And there was the dragon with triumph branding standing....! One of the best mcn reviews till date and best of the street 765....
really steep looking and usually cameras lie about how steep a hilly road actually is! real hairpin bends, and weird cambers I bet? looks a great bike though! ride safe
american rider here, last week i rode 1200 miles to the tail of the dragon in north carolina it rained the whole way there, it rained while we where there, rode the dragon 3 times in the rain, how do you make an epic trip and then not ride the roads you came to ride because of bad weather, i did it on a 2013 striple with no ride modes or traction control, 2500 miles in 6 days....
Hey. Turns out this road is the Nivolet Pass in Italy. Didn’t know it at the time. Just knew it as strava provinciale 50. My mate was in his car who helped carting the tent and chair around :)
A few years back, my friend and I rode to Colorado, we got up to 12,000 ft. (about 3650 m. to you) and I have an 08 Bonneville America, last year carbureted. It was very sluggish, but nothing a downshift couldn't cure. Had to adjust the idle at elevation. Ran like a champ otherwise. Love Triumph's, still have it with 69,000 mi.on the clock.
At the end, when you were talking about the wind buffering at 75/80, are you talking kph, or mph? I'm really interested in getting one, and love hearing from everyday people about their experiences. ...thanks.
Why is the bike shuttle so expensive? For the same money for a return bike shuttle, Track Day companies are offering bike transport there and back with kit, 3 nights in a hotel with breakfast and 3 days on circuit. Seems bike shuttle are ripping people off.
