Extras worth considering - Centre stand, makes chain maintenance a doddle also its the easiest I have ever used. Fly screen, works surprisingly well & eases fatigue at speed. All OEM parts so not cheap but fit like a glove.
I'm a 58 year old man who's getting his first bike as soon as I pass my full bike licence. I love the Triumph Street Twin's looks and that it has a low seat height. I love your videos and I'm learning a lot of good stuff. God bless from Bristol, England.
Those mirrors look amazing, definitely the best mod thus far! Love seeing people installing their own mods and working on their bikes! Keep up the great work!! You've given me several ideas of places to check out the next time I'm in the area. 👏🏽👋🏽
Love to see a fellow Street Twin rider! I’ve had mine for two years and just finished up the mods to her. You are spot on about the ease of modifying. So many great companies make great kit… Can’t wait to see what further mods you do!
Great job!!! Quick tip: use a green scotch brite pad and some soapy water to clean the staining from the header pipe, just use a circular motion. Have a great day, and always ride safe!!!
The Grips do add the right level of contrast... Not sure bout why most people don't like the original mirrors though... But to each his/her own. Nice Bike!
Halcyon bar end mirrors are the best, imho. I used CRG, and TEC bar end mirrors before settling on the Halcyons with ball joints. Made in England by a company that caters to Café Racers.
I had the same feeling crossing the congress bridge and cruising downtown the first time I did it. "Is this real? Am I really doing this now?!" Then getting the wave from other bikers and you're like "I'm in the club!!"
That was my thinking too. I just ordered a Corbin seat with brown leather seat panels, brown vinyl sides, and dark green stitching and welting to go on my '24 stealth green Speed Twin. The accessory brown seat will not fit with the top box rack, per Triumph.
Just bought a Speed Twin 900 and I'm loving it! By coincidence, I have a radiator guard to install too, but no time to do it. This model is original from Triumph? Greetings from Brazil!
I'm currently in the process of buying a '22 Street Twin. Found one on cycle trader and look to finish the deal tomorrow. Don't think I'll be sleeping tonight.
Hi there! thanks for your video. I just bought a new speed twin( new name for street twin) in the chrome edition which is hopper red( sort of candy apple) with chrome knee pads on the tank. It is my first Triumph after 40+ years of riding and I love it. The looks the sound and the way it rides are terrific! I too have fitted a radguard( I went for the brushed alloy look which matches the exhaust and throttle body covers) and also have some nice bar end mirrors to try. Your street twin looks very nice in all black and I love the big central analog speedometer and the sound from the exhaust. I look forward to seeing the next mods. you have planned for your bike. Cheers from down under!
The mirrors look fantastic. Also really like the look of the grips. Too bad you had an issue with the adhesive. I’m considering either the mirrors you got or the CRG lanesplitters. Also thinking about the Motone Tail Tidy and relocating the rear turn signals to the rear suspension mounts. Love your content!!
I like to customise my bikes. Its not only bling but a practical tweaking to suit ergonomics, performance and variable road conditions. So i just bought a Thuxton 1200 with low mileage, like 2700 kms over 6 years! Ive already doubled that in 3 months. It was intensively customised. Fairing, mufflers, rear shocks, cowling, seat, tail tidy, bar end mirrors. I put in progressive springs to remove harsh ride as I live in country southern West Australia where the roads are mangled by grain trucks. I changed the. rear sprocket to a smaller diameter to have lower revs at highway speeds, as my nearest city is 90 miles. It does 65 moh at 3200 rom instead of 4500. The motor is low revving especially compared to my previous bike a 1450cc 4 cylinder. I had some leather handlebar tape left over from a pushbike and wrapped that on my grips as stock grips were too narrow and hard. Good to see you embrace motorbike riding. Ive been on them since 1972 and they demand focus and prescence of mind.
@@moto_des I smiled when you said on your video that you cannot believe you were actually on the bike . A friend of mine just got back into riding after decades and is blown away after he said to me he wont get another bike. He rides a 650 Enfield and also cannot believe its him on the bike having his mind blown.
If I could make one suggestion, when you put new bolts or screws on your bike you should use red loctite, those screws can vibrate and back themselves out while you are riding, red loctite will lock the screw in so it does not vibrate out, you can also use blue loctite if it's a bolt you think you might remove periodically, I use red on everything
@@moto_des I am really enjoying your videos, I like how you edit them, and that bike is gorgeous, one day I will get a Triumph, definitely not opposed to trading my current bike in and getting one
I tried those grip wraps also, but had to get rid of them due to being slippery with gloves on. If u dont mind marring the grips, you can try lightly scuffing them (with sandpaper or other type of abrasive) to create a better contact surface for your gloves.
I am 7 years in with my St Twin and it’s a great bike. That’s bizarre you had to purchase the radiator guard. In Europe the bike comes stock with that exact same guard you fitted! I actually replaced mine with a custom one, just to personalize it a bit. Cannot believe Triumph sells the bike in the US with no guard. Anyway, enjoy the ride👍
Love my street twin too! The sound is one of the best things about the bike! Don’t you just love the start up sound? I kept my Mickey Mouse mirrors -I like how they look actually. Anyway enjoy the mods.
Something you could have done with the left hand mirror mount is leave it on and add a motorcycle RAM mount on it (think it is called a mirror ball base) and then add your favorite go-pro mount, etc. and then remove your seasky go-pro mount for that super clean factory look😜. Enjoying the video's btw. I am getting back into riding after an 18 year hiatus (i.e. kids), so I can relate to your excitement, and all the newness when riding. Cheers!
I have the same Timemachine grips, I did mine from the end in. They seem fine, I used some leather treatment a few times, they seem to handle getting wet, with regular treatment. I like the feel and thickness on my Pan Am, I'm use to a 1988 Lowrider, which has pretty thick grips. Leather treatment, like Dubbin, helps with thee grip feeling.
Salt Lick BBQ is better than Terry Black BBQ. Nice bike ! You definitely need to head towards Boerne and San Antonio and ride the 3 Sisters. So fun on my K1600b. I'm just outside of the DFW area and we ride down there many times a year. Ride safe !
@MotoDes Marble Falls is beautiful! We like to go watch the fast boat races there. There is some great riding around there too. I was impressed by your bf following you in a car as you got used to your bike because that protected you from getting rear ended by tailgaters or someone trying to push to to faster speeds too quickly. Always wear good gear- dress for the slide, not the ride. Looking forward to more vids !
Beautiful bike and great mods! I love the Trip Machine leather wraps. After two rides you get used to them and they kind of get smoother the longer they are used by daily riding and weather conditions. For the last inch I used double sides tape.
hi!!! Greetings from Mexico, I have the street twin 2022, the same one but in a beautiful blue color. I love those mirrors I think i'm going to get them for me. Thanks so much for the videos, yo are amazing! And by the way I love your gloves.
The bar end mirrors look great, however I won't be putting them on my own bike as I do a lot of lane splitting and the extra width will inhibit me from going down between 2 cars because of the extra width. However the radiator guard is a great idea
@@moto_des I hear that! I'm a new rider too. I'm on my second bike that I got back in Nov. I almost bought a black Speed Twin 900 back then(your bike but now with a new name). Tho I've been loving the Trident I got instead lately I've been wishing I bought the ST900.
Rode from Georgetown to pick up my friend in south Austin for a road trip down to Kelly’s Hill Country Barbeque in Wimberley, TX and it was pretty solid and the trip was awesome! Also I’d get a disc lock or some sort of anti theft for your street twin there’s been a lot of bikes getting swooped up in Austin lately! Cheers and ride safe!
Nice, I'll have to check that place out. I have heard this from other bikers in Austin. Will have to start parking behind my car 😅 Thanks for watching!
Love those mirrors! I have a 2022 Speed Twin 1200 and I’ve been meaning to get those. I’m in the middle of painting the gas tank now though, so that will have to wait. Didn’t like the stock Red Hopper color I got, so I’m changing it to Jade Green Metallic. Can’t wait to finish and get back to riding!!
Those will look great! They have easily been my favorite upgrade so far. I eventually want to pant my tank as well, a matte black. Jade Green sounds dope! Thanks for watching :)
@@moto_des No problem. Thanks for making the video. My first color choice was Toyota Lunar Rock, but the spray can tip where I ordered it from online wasn’t the greatest. Decided to switch to Dupli-Color since it’s cheap and looks pretty good. Bought the good 2K clear though. Almost finished with the color base coat, so not much more to go. You can’t go wrong with matte black!
I have the Tripmachine leather on my Speedmaster and on my Interceptor, they both felt kind of bulky at first, but it will wear in soon enough and feel great.
Terry blacks is very good but not the best bbq place in Austin.. la barbecue is excellent so is valentine’s barbecue… maybe you can do your next video on rainy Street or the river just some suggestions doing a great job. Love your videos.
I have same bike in blue, I am in Uk 🇬🇧 good video! I put front fender extender on Midgard to stop muck covering radiator! Also top rubber tank pad and side pads to protect tank from scratches and also a screen protector from speedo angels in Uk
Great video really like the triumph I want a 1200 speed twin I’ve got two Ducati s scrambler 800 and a v2 multistrada but want the triumph as well they look so good like your mods Ash in UK
👋 I found your channel while looking for how-to videos for installing LongRide spacers. Just watched this one - those mirrors look super cool! Did you end up keeping the grip wraps on? They look classy on your Street Twin... I'm on the fence about whether to add something like those or Grip Puppy foam guards to ease up how hard the stock grips are. The leather wraps look kind of slippery though.
Hi there!! Great customization, looks very beatiful! Can I ask you something? Where can i find your gloves? This looks comfortable and surely much stylist!! Thank you
Hi nice video i also have a street twin, My first mod was to fit a fly screen and it works, then i have fit up graded fork springs a must, try tec parts uk enjoy your riding. Andrew
Hello, I just got my street twin and I am close to finishing my licence. It's nice to see and hear you talking and driving the bike with such joy. Haha I am also already thinking about customizing stuff like the mirrors, handlebars, seat, ... I actually like the brown seat which you can buy from triumph. Just wondering about the comfort of it.
Very nicely done, where are you located, I see a Texas plate! I wanted to buy a Street Twin too, can’t decide between an Iron 883 or this, I don’t want nothing big!
Handsome looking bike , the mirrors look great although the upright arms look like they are angled inwards to the bike rather than outwards.. not sure if they can be swapped over to have them angled outwards? Just an observation 👍🏼
I adjusted the mirror! The grips are fine now, and I didn't have any trouble on my first ride. Otherwise, I would have for sure taken them off. Thanks for watching :)
New rider here, from Houston. Love your content. I got my 2019 Street Twin on Jan 7 this year and already put 2k miles on it lol. It really is such a fun bike to be on. Can't wait to get up there and ride Austin's roads at some point. Houston doesnt have many mountains, unless you consider the ship channel bridge a mountain road hahahaha
@@moto_des Looks like ill be up in Austin in 2 weeks for our anniversary. Going to bring my Street Twin in the back of the truck so we can ride up there. Have you had a chance to experience the best roads to ride up there? Any recommendations?? Well be staying near Driftwood but plan to get around the city for various things. I know I wanna get up to the Oasis for the view as well, but really want to hit some scenic roads.
How do the new mirrors perform with bright headlights from traffic behind you? That was the biggest issue with the stock mirrors on my Pacific Coast, ST1100P, and BMW R1250RT. The low position of those mirrors reflected a lot of bright headlights up into my eyes at night. Being lower than the stock handle bar mirrors, do you have more headlight glare beamed up from the cafe mirrors?
@@moto_des I'm ready to pull the trigger on a set. The stock mirrors tend to look through my arms and do not provide a clear look behind me unless I reposition my head or arms to get a clear view.
Hmm, I'm not sure. That's strange it wouldn't fit but I'm guessing the new models are slightly different. 🤷♀️ I hope you find some that fit your bike!
