The 'Trizonesia Song' is a German song penned by Karl Berbuer in 1948. It served as a substitute for the German national anthem during a period when no official anthem existed. The song satirically addresses the unresolved constitutional status of the three western zones and the presence of the Yanks, Brits, and French. The term "Trizonesia" was coined by Berbuer after France joined the Bizone, leading to its renaming as the Trizone.
During this time, Germany lacked an official national anthem, as "Deutschlandlied" had lost its status following Nazi Germany's surrender. Due to the song's popularity, it was adopted at sporting events as a substitute national representation for Germany. In a British prisoner-of-war camp, the song was played alongside 'God Save the King' at an Anglo-German football match. Additionally, at a cycling race in Cologne in 1949, it was mistakenly taken for the German national anthem by allied military officers, who stood in respect.
