Guderian and Halder were spreading the myth of the "clean Wehrmacht". Schacht was more or less ostraziced in post war Germany. He never held any position of real power again.

This doesn't work as well, because the Soviet-occupied area of Germany was not part of Trizonia, and knowing Stalin, it is no wonder why it became East Germany.
