I show you how to troll buzzbombs to catch jumping salmon. I show you the lures and the gear I use. Trolling lures can be very effective when the salmon are in the top 30' of water.

Further.... I recall, casting and Retrieving, close to surface, they will off track , zig zag, sorta like a hot n tot plug...aka, searching action.

Nice! I did a buzz bomb video this year and one of my long time viewers (Mike) said he used to troll them in the 70s. Cool to see it in live action!

Thanks. I had never seen anyone troll these but the package says you can. It really works for the fish right at the surface where I never have luck with a downrigger.

I wouldn't do any of that from the video. Maybe it works but if you look in this video Nic was using a hoochie on his and didn't get any bites until he removed the hoochie.

Last week my buddy got a 6lb coho trolling a buzz bomb with me, not even two minutes in the water he cast it. I mentioned to him the line is badly wrapped around my pole he was using. As I’m fixing it the fish was on and felt like it was off immediately. After fixing his mess he started to reel back in to re cast and the fish was still on. Can’t go wrong with trolling buzzbombs. I just wish I got it on video. I was mind blown the whole day. 😂

I fished Puget Sound in the 70's with the Buzz bomb. Always caught fish, the shakers loved them things.

Too bad your downrigger clips were not working, but you were able to improvise with heavy buzzbombs 👍🏻 Doggie likes licking fish blood on the deck. Salmon are good jumpers. Aint nothin like trolling. Good to take home for dinner 🐟🐟🐟

I used a 4 ounce sinker and a dodger and a white Buzz bomb deep. I can't explain it, but sometimes you are on top of fish, you see them on the fish finder and they don't bite. But if you troll a white Buzz bomb they bite every time.

I believe its a simple case of " CONTRAST", Way over looked Subject. Fish are silvery or Whitish... and that color can be seen very deep. Black on the other hand , WHEN COMBINED, With said colors, or other colors, will give off a SILLOETTE, Like a Black and Silver Floating Rapala wobbling, flashing , bright dark, bright dark in Cadence ,as its darker top side angles downward. Any fish it going to interpret that kind of moment as an out of Rythem , swimming minnow/ Bait fish. I knew a fisherman who took evey lure and painted a black stripe on the bottom of his lures; swears he gets more strikes.
