We lived in Corning at the time of the flood. What an event, you would not believe the amount of water. My daughter at age 1 is at 1 min 39 seconds into the video.

I grew up not far from here in upstate NY. Hurricane Agnes stole 3 weeks of my summer vacation. We literally were stuck in our house for 3 weeks(Poor mom!). It didn't just rain a normal rain. It was pouring big fat drops really hard for 3 weeks. What a crappy summer that was! Thx Agnes. Still thinkin' of ya, you jerk!

I was 11yrs old from Rochester. My girl scout troop went down to help clean up. I remember nothing but mud and tree branches everywhere.

So many memories of that dreadful day 52 years ago today...but we survived! And after moving away, I always lived where I would be high and dry!

Town never recovered. The houses have water damage. My sister lived there and we toured some of the homes...dirt cheap...for sale. But water damage was everywhere. Too bad...some of the houses were just gorgeous, old homes with wonderful woodwork.
