Tropical Storm Ian will become a hurricane soon, possibly rapidly intensifying as it approaches Cuba. The worst weather stays west of Jamaica, but hurricane and tropical storm conditions are likely for the Cayman Islands. Western Cuba could have winds over 100 mph by early this week.
After that, it is highly uncertain where this goes. It depends on a front to the north. All locations from Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Florida and the Bahamas should monitor this closely. Florida is taking initial preparations at this time.
