Hola......I am from New Zealand living in Cancun, first Hurricane experience coming up....excited, nervous, all will be experienced.

St.Elizabeth and Clarendon in Jamaica was battered. Its really bad homes losts roads blocked its really bad. Praying for those who are in the path, do not underestemate this storm.

In Tulum as well… praying for safety for all the vacationers, locals and all of us expats!!!

It will magically turn North on Sunday in the Gulf and intensify and head towards Brazoria County for landfall on Monday and then directly over the Greater Houston Area , watch the Lake Livingston dam, wham bam no more Dam !

This forecast is one of the best so far. Beryl took a beating in the Jamsica mountains and is limping now. Am pleased So Texas Will be blessed with much needed rain, though it may exceed the need.

Utility (CFE) shutting all the power down just north of Tulum at 10PM. Still reasonably sunny calm before the storm. People still swimming. But all is closed and boarded up.

I live on Isla Mujeres, a tiny tiny island about 8 miles off the coast from Cancun. 10:10pm. The second band is hitting us right now. Our power and wifi/cell phone service has been off and on since 4pm. Mostly off for wifi and cellphone service. Power came on, so I took a chance to stop by. We don't blink an eye for a Cat 2 here. All good.

From what I can see in the actual storm track. I can see that it will make landfall between Cozumel and Cancun. That is my prediction. Everyone’s tracks have been showing a more western direction but the storm been going more of a north western direction

San Antonio, TX here, keeping an eye on Beryl. We are the main stop for folks that evacuate inland from the Texas coastline, from about Corpus Christi on down to the border. I was stationed at Keesler AFB (Biloxi, MS) back in the late-70's to mid-80's, and got to see a lot of Hurricane Hunter C-130 flights arriving and departing. If I'm not mistaken, I think the NOAA hurricane aircraft are P-3 Orions. Both the P-3 Orion and the C-130 Hercules are manufactured by Lockheed/Martin.
