What they felt was mostly like the concussion of the blast. Most blasters if they do their job right. They know how much to use and not damage the nearby properties.
The front debris pile is taller because the tower was mostly structural steal and the back was all concrete. The machine on the front tower has a 2nd member shear on it.
I was there yesterday. Not much visual progress in a week but it seems like the gravel piles are higher and bigger. The main rubble is still about 15 stories tall. Its impressive to watch them work on it.
I have seen those big clamps slice through beams like that with ease . We had similar doing demo at the paper mill I worked at they know there stuff and clean up quickly . I am wondering about the dust control it doesn't look that effective . As for the raiders looks like a tough season again . Love the videos keep them coming we will be in Vegas for the NRL game at the end of February 2025
The front debris pile is steel beams, the back is concrete. The concrete probably pancaked making it flatter. The steel beams couldn't flatten out like the concrete tower
The red pipes look like the original water supply for the Tropicana. I belive it was close by the back tower seeing the orange paint on the wall behind it. 🙃
The pipes are a manifold constructed of Victaulic pipe. It's easy to assemble, and one common use is for fire suppression systems. That space was one of the mechanical rooms behind a hotel tower. If the city water pressure is good, then you're right about the source water.
This stadium will be a nightmare to access in the future. One of the busiest intersections in the country not to mention the airport in its backyard. If this team was meant for the locals, why put it there?Vegas only cares about the tourists definitely not the locals. Such a waste, at least put it next to allegiant and have some type of sports complex for both teams.
