Thanks guys. I have a portfolio 240w transformer that I have set on "A" - automatic dusk to dawn. Recently, all of my lights connected to this transformer are on all the time 24/7. I can see the timer settings and am able to set the timer from 0-9, A, or off but the lights are still on. The only way I can shut off my lights is to unplug the unit. I suspect the external light sensor that hangs from a wire. I have it mounted on the wall as it has always been. Any ideas?
Any thoughts on how to check the wiring to the fixtures for step lights, where the wiring is mostly underneath stone work? I have one light that flickers. Wiggling the wire doesn’t seem to impact the flicker - but other than the connection point of the fixture to the main landscape wire, I don’t know what could be the cause. I’ve already replaced the socket with no change in results.
I followed your procedure. I have 12 volts at the socket and I have a good bulb. That bulb only glows very dim. When I put that bulb in another fixture it works fine. Thoughts?
Based on your comment, you either have a bad connection at the socket or between the fixture and your home run. You’ll have to check the connection point and the socket to determine where the issue is exactly.
Thanks. This fixture is at the end of a series run. The fixture before works great and both fixtures show 12 volts. I’ll try digging up the wire from the fixture before it and see if there’s an issue. Though I don’t understand how there could be a problem if the fixture is showing 12 volts.
Thanks guys. But don’t quit your day jobs. You took over 6 minutes rambling about what should have taken a minute. Oh and get a better microphone next time.
