You’ve saved my machine instantly !!! And just for anyone else reading like me who doesn’t have magnets around… the bottom of your old juul is very magnetic… stronger than my fridge magnet i place the juul against the disc and then back of the machine and it cleared straight away!!!
Thank you so much for this!! I watched so many useless videos trying to figure out what was wrong with my machine before I found yours! How on Earth you figured out this black magic is beyond me - but I am very THANKFUL you did!!!! Genius!
I've almost took my Tassimo apart to troubleshoot this... Thanks for saving my time. TIP: you can find tiny cylindrical earth magnets at Staples/Home Depot/Lee Valley/etc. that you can incorporate inside the original floater. Just buy the smallest, drill a hole into the floater, put some glue and insert the earth magnet and you're good to go.
Thank you sir. Saved me a lot of stress and money replacing a perfectly fine machine. I just taped a magnet to the back of the tassimo thin enough that the water reservoir still slides in. I’m hoping this may re-magnetise the original magnet too being in close proximity.
I know this is over 3 years old but,OMG.I hadn't used my tassimo in a few months because I finally found the pods at my local Target. When i turned it on i got the red light,I figured the pump went, but I decided to look on RU-vid and see if there was an easy fix.Your video was the first one that popped up.I tried it and it WORKED! I did it a little differently though,I just attached a very thin but strong magnet to the floating magnet and. Voila! Thank you so much.
Thank you! I was able to use a magnet for my refrigerator that I in plastic. I put part of the plastic bag underneath it to hold it up and it worked like a charm. So happy my machine didn't end up in a landfill.
Thanks so much for putting this video out on RU-vid!! I'm on my 2nd Tassimo machine. Had that problem with the 1st one and then a friend gave me a new one as a gift! I now know exactly what to do to "fix" my machine - I'll likely remagnetize the original magnet just to keep things simple! I use a French press most of the time, but use the Tassimo on occasion.
Thank you so much! I haven't used my machine in a month or so...have been dreading either having to get a new one, or pay for expensive repairs. So grateful!
Awesome work, you saved my Tassimo, I just happened to have magnets that fit the space perfectly and now up an running again, many thanks for the hack!
Hi. Thanks for this post. Saved me chucking a fully working machine thinking it was broken. I used a small circular hobby magnet on the back of the original failing one and due to the design of the housing it fitted in the gap and allowed it to still move and float. Thanks for the inspiration.
Thanks, that's a brilliant solution. I got a small flat ferro magnet that I taped at the side of the water tank, centered at the black floatl; the blinking red light went away for good. Just have to watch now that there is always water inside.
Your solution works perfectly. In fact what I did is take the puck shaped floating magnet out totally, and then used a very small magnet (from a tool socket) and merely taped it to the back of the inside of the main unit. I positioned it until the light when out and then shipping taped it in place. Works perfectly.
Genius. I had a magnet that wouldn’t float so I rubbed on the magnet that came with the machine and voila the magnet started working again I think we learned that in school. Thank you so much for your help!
I tried your hack but I put the magnet in a baggie because I did not know if the magnet was food safe. I placed the magnet at the correct height in the container and shut the black bar into the baggie. It worked!! Thanks,
I had the same concern and end up buying a k-cup water tank with the same size magnet to put in. It costed about 27 bucks though still cheaper than a new Tassimo one and the company won’t sell magnet only.
Exactly my problem, exactly the fix needed! If the string (excuse me, floss) doesn't work, you can also simply glue the magnet in place with a bit of silicone glue. Works wonders. Thanks for the great vid!
Thanks man! I didn't have a magnet with holes to thread anything like dental floss through to fasten it, so I just left the original useless magnet at the bottom and positioned the new one above it, the old one isn't so useless now since it keeps it in place.Cheers!
Man i was arguing with my gf and she kept saying this was the "clean" light and I kept saying it was the water level light, and I found your video and managed to fix her Tassimo ! Thanks mate !
Thank you so much for saving my Tassimo! I thought it was dead for sure! A little remagnetization with a refrigerator magnet and we revived it. Thank you!!
Thank you!!! You saved me!!! I bought the red one of these a year back at a used store for a couple bucks. It had the same problem. Possibly part of why the owner gave it up. Im thinking I can replace that magnet on ebay but now I didnt have to spend money to find out if it works... or wait for tasty coffees.
Thanks so much. My water supply module tipped over and the magnet and cover fell out. Found them a couple of hours later and was about to throw them out! All fixed......
That may have been your first RU-vid but i am very grateful you made it. Do you have to worry about the positive or negative of the magnet? Our tassimo has been in storage and is about 8 years old the same as yours. We will have to find that small magnet 😊
thank you sooooo much, easy peezy when you know how!! The un dissolved descaling mix had got into the magnet area & stopped it from moving, so flushed it out & hey presto away we went !!!!
Oohhh my..been fighting with my coffee machine for days and after watching this video, i took magnet out and placed a smaller office board magnet in the middle of that one and Booosh..it stayed and works..Gr8 video and thank you for saving me replacing whole unit as my partner was already looking to buy another and i kept refusing.😂😂🙈😂
great finally the "water detect" mechanism is based on the tab.... the missing peace of the puzzle on my machine because I tried to clean it up and removed the tab. "no water" led started and never returned..... thanks!
In the meanwhile, all you have to do is push the magnet against the back of the machine using an utensil and it will work as long it’s filled with water.
Wonderful, I added a very slim magnet between the back of the machine & the water tank. It stopped detecting the empty tank which is fine with me. I didn't insert anything inside the water tank.
finnaly find out how to "repair" it ...thx alot, save me from buying new one, i stii have that original magnet but he didint stand there anymore, thx alot❤🎉
wow you saved my morning (+ me turning into an angry monster) THANK YOU SO MUCH !!!! That was super easy to follow, i just took a magnet from a fridge magnet and balanced it on top of the machine's one in the tank, and it worked perfectly :D
The company really should sell the magnet by itself instead of the whole water tank as better customer care. But given this reference, I got a cheaper one from k-cup tank with magnet that’s slightly low priced on Amazon and took the same size and better quality magnet out of that to use. It’s better quality as I realized the old one had a small button that easily could separate once poked out and the inside looked deteriorated. The new one is completely sealed in with plastic or silicon whatever material is but I trust it’s food grade safe.
*WARNING* Please don't do this. You're soaking a magnet and unknown plated metal (probably galvanized) in drinking water for months allowing it to leach, who knows what, into water that you are drinking low steady doses of, over a long duration. You are begging for cancer trying things like this. Put a thin magnet between the reservoir and the rear of the machine if you must make this mod. I bought one at Michael's crafts for under a dollar and secured it with blue painters tape. If you buy extra magnets you can remagnetize the float while the temporary magnet is taped in place. My children drink out of our tassimo. I cant imagine letting them drink that!!
Ridiculous. The metal loss over years would be so miniscule as to be meaningless. It's actually much more dangerous to swallow whole magnets as they are attracted to each other within your digestive system. Also, you are under the mistaken impression that the original magnet is somehow different that one you would buy at the hardware store. Based on what I know about the magnet industry, these likely all comes from the same few producers and are of similar composition. If you are that worried, simply coat the magnet is several layers of nail polish. This would not affect the magnet and the polish is water insoluble.
I fixed mine your way.I also was worried about leaving the magnet in the water so i put a small thin magnet(the small circle one for the fridge from dollar store) between the reservoir and the machine and it worked. Thanks for the info.
I understand your concern. However, I have found that both Amazon and Home Depot, and probably other vendors as well, sell color plastic-coated magnets of approximately the same size as the original magnet in the water reservoir of Tassimo coffeemakers. If you want to replace the original magnet in the reservoir, this would probably provide a reasonably safe solution. As for me, I taped a thin magnet I had to the back of the unit (not in the water reservoir) in the appropriate location to keep my coffeemaker functioning. So far so good, although it is a tight squeeze between the water tank and the main unit with the magnet in between.
All, thanks for the discussion and sharing. I am using a magnetizer block that comes from a box of tools I bought before to see if I can re-magnetize the original one. Keeping my fingers crossed. But it didn’t work. I ended up buying a k-cup one (see another post) as it’s best to be food graded.
