A lengthy demonstration of how I managed to unlock and remove the side panels from one of our Tassimos (model TAS4615UC) without breaking any plastic knobs!!
Thank you to the makers of • Removing the panel on ... , • Bosch TAS4302GB Tassim... , and • How to open a Bosch Ta... . Note that all of their machines had flat panels sliding off downwards, while my curved panels opened towards the back of the machine.
If you see flat unlocking slots on the back or bottom of the panels, chances are that your panels will slide off in that direction.

Thanks very much for this Claus, just what I needed to be able to get inside the unit to finish off replacing the code reader. I had two of the flat ended teaspoons to hand and wouldn't have been able to remove the side panel without the benefit of your video, much appreciated.

I have a broken one of these and have been watching many videos to gain some clues but I think getting the sides off is the most difficult job. Thanks for your work.

Very helpful. My tassimo produces a lot of steam and not much water (2 oz)regardless of which T disc (espresso, coffee or latte) I use. I removed the side panels but all looks like it is flowing. I cleaned the bar code reader and everything else. I wonder if the bar code reader is damaged because I can see brown discolouration on the inside bottom of it.

You need to use a flat spoon handle or similar to push the springy plastic part towards the inside of the machine in order to free the triangular backstop on the inside of the lid. When you have your tool in one of the slots on the back edge of the lid, you can move it up and down a bit to feel where the triangle is and push inside there. While you do that, push the front edge of the lid towards the back. It will eventually move by just a couple of millimetres and stay there while you free the other triangle pin.
