My front diff is clicking I have checked the teeth on the soft and the Center diff no teeth missing but I found that it had no grease in the diff part do u rekon this could be the cause of the grinding ???
I have a 4wd brushless rally car, when driving straight on a flat surface the front right wheel vibrates alot, when turning it violently bounces. With the car up, if I rotate the from wheels there is a point of high resistance, when this resistance is met and exceeded the entire lot lifts up as of going over a big bump. Visually nothing looks bent, I haven't replaced anything so isn't a case of incorrect part lengths.. What could it be?
Well a few things come to mind. If it's on a front wheel where the c hub bolt threads up into the steering knuckle, it can push against the bearing causing the race to crack and create a binding issue. If it's just a bad bearing it can cause that. If it's a redcat aftermarket aluminum upgraded vehicle, you must use axles from redcat or when you tighten the wheel it will press against the bearings causing this issue. I would lose the wheel nut and see if the issue goes away. If it goes away you have and issue there crushing the bearing sideways.
@@ragercrepair9301 thanks for the reply! The problem still persists even with the wheels removed Although it isn't quite as bad.. I suspected a bent shaft at first but they're fine. I then looked over all the suspension arms to see if anything had snapped or bent but all seems perfect. I replaced the front diff incase it was a bearing issue there but nope... Still happens!
@@ragercrepair9301 my center differential was jammed up,so was my rear,center differential locked up for some reason,installed new one and shimmed all three,and seems solid now
Hey my traxxas slash is concerning me, when I spin one wheel, the other one on the opposite side of the axis is supposed to spin in the opposite direction off the ground, but it doesn’t do that, idk if that means that my differential is broken, BUT I did round out my spur gear due to sand
Is this a 4x4 or 2wd model? If it's 2wd you should be able to hold either wheel and spin the other and the motor should turn. If it's 4x4, moving any wheel while keeping the remaining 3 still should turn the motor over. If only one wheel doesn't cause the motor to spin, its either in the driveline "axle pin, axle shaft ect" or a broken pin inside the diff/differential failure.
So idk if your still responding to comentes still but i cant figure iut the losi baja rey diffs it ginds on all 4 wheeles still idk im having a hard time with it
Got a MJX Hyper Go as a starter. No center diff. 3 other wheels spin when i hold onto to any 1 wheel and give throttle except when I hold the front right wheel. It just wants to push off and doesn't spin the left front wheel and barely any spin on the rear wheels as well. Any idea? Front diffs issue?
i have the MJX Hyper Go. 3 other wheels spin when i hold onto to any 1 wheel = Normal. Don't bash with it. the ground clearance is really low. I use it for mostly running high speed and small jump from pavement to street.
So when you're testing diffs, always pick up either the front or rear, leaving one end down and accelerate. You should know pretty quick which end the problem is on. Then the noisy end or end with no response swill be here the issues are. Check axles, wheel hexes and wheel hex pins. If it's not that it's in the diff.
Well this doesn't have a slipper clutch, it has a center diff. If it's a brand new truck, I would say it's a center diff. Check out all my diff videos and you'll see explanations.
@@ragercrepair9301 tbh mate I think it's the inside of the diff as the bevel gear and the diff its self look fine.. I did wot u did in the video after putting it the bk end bk together and it woz just grinding again lol. I'm hoping it's the inside of the diff tbh lol
OK so what I would do is order a new center diff for the redcat earthquake. Those gears are hardened. The ones for the front and rear that you get aftermarket for the shredder are pot metal bevel gears. Steal the bevels out of the center diff, shim shim them dry so that turn with a slight resistance and you can hear an audible click when rotating the output cups, then add the fluid and reassemble. You shouldn't have any issues for a good long while.
@@ragercrepair9301 sorry mate it's not a red cat I'm working on atm it's just a little car with front and bk diff sorry mate I should of sed. I've orded the pear of diff and they come on the 30th of this month so as soon as they come I'll strip it bit by bit lol. Thank u for the info and the help tho mate much appreciated..👊
Same thing applies for any diff. You want a slight bit of friction when you spin it dry. That will keep things together longer when you use quality diff lube. Keep the shims from the old diff to use in the new one. That will help a lot.
