I had the problem mentioned, support had me do this “fix”, making the little up movement of the Z-axis fixed the problem. Figure in the future when I replace black backlash nut with the new white ones there will no longer be a problem.

I put on the new sensors, and they worked perfect. THEN, I upgraded to the new spring loaded backlash plates. They worked perfect on the "Y" axis, but the Z axis has a clearance problem. ...the tapered end of the backlash plate is up. (springs at the top) Do I have them up-side-down? I took out the lock washer thinking this would give me the clearance I needed but that didn't work either. I'm sure there is a simple solution to this but I couldn't figure it out. I just want the new backlash plates to work with my sensors. ...what's your solution?

So on the MK2, if we have the brass nut on the Z lead screw, we CAN NOT replace it with the clamping nut?

Correct, the space on earlier machines is too small for the clamping nut to fit. All other brass nuts can be replaced with the clamping nut.

@@SienciLabs Ok, sounds good. Thanks so much.

How did you get your 'Z' Axis nut on? Mine was too thick (small raised area next to threads) and would not fit in opening.

Earlier versions of LongMills, pre-fall of 2023 can only use a brass ACME nut on the z-axis due to the size of the space where the nut sits.

@@SienciLabs What was the fix you applied to the newer machines?
