Sienci Labs is a company that emerged from research and testing to create low-cost mechanical systems for rapid prototyping tools like CNC machines, 3D printers, and laser cutters.
The LongMill is a powerful and versatile benchtop CNC router perfect for any home, garage, or workshop; designed for beginners and advanced users alike.
Nice looking system definitely beefier than my MK2 48x30. I like the fact you guys went with closed loop motors and ball screws. oh what size ball screw are you using?
@@SienciLabs Forgive me friend, I was studying the Carbide program and I realized that it doesn't let me generate G-code, it only saves .c2d files that my CNC machine doesn't recognize. I could save the file in G-code format if I buy the pro version. I'm sorry for bothering you, I'm lost right now. Greetings.
Will this be available as a stand alone unit? I already have a spindle so don't need that just the 80mm dustshoe. I am one of the first 50 so was hoping to pick this up along with my Altmill once it is available. Thanks!
@@GregCormier Yes all of the files for the AltMill and accessories will be available. It may take a bit of time but they will be open sourced as with all of our products.
@femiolaniran5240 No problem. There are a lot of variables with that question though. We would say your determining factor on thickness is the bit you’re using. Again, the type of metal, your feeds and speeds etc are all going to factor in. So far we’ve experimented with 2” aluminum and it had no issues.
Yes! Rob, thanks for pointing that out! No dust collection because it's a fire hazard. If a hot piece of metal got mixed in with the sawdust that's already been collected, it could ignite.
Glad to hear AltMills are shipping. Looking forward to getting mine. For the panel computer, really hoping you can sort out a reasonable cost for a Windows license. While I'm comfortable using Linux, I think for compatibility reasons Windows 11 makes more sense in this situation.
Nice tutorial, I never realized just how slow these machines are. An hour is far longer than I ever imagined and apparently I need to spend more money.
Feel free to reach out to customer service to help your troubleshoot it! sienci.com/contact-us/#:~:text=Phone%20or%20text%20us%20at,or%20replies%20with%20text%20messages.
I noticed that pwnCNC has a 220v spindle. I may be mistaken, but I believe I heard in a separate video that Sienci was sorcing spindles from them. You could skip the spindle kit and order your own separately. They had 1.5kw and 2.2kw options.
It should be possible. Check out the link below for more info. You'll have to check your clearance on your machine and have to do some rewiring on your controller to make it happen. resources.sienci.com/view/vx-using-other-cnc-routers/
Brother when I was upload surfacing program it has been going one line and suddenly stopped and showing grbl 1.1h for help. I can't understand what happened.. Please send me feed back.. Thank you
Amazing cnc for the price, love your work engineering and skills. Your openness and frequent communication is inspiring how to order one next year with 220v higher kw spindle. 😅😅
Brother my cnc gsender showing in console Longmill mk2 for help and then it's program going to stop I don't know what happened how can I fix this issue please help me 🙏
When you are surfacing, and it asks for the bit diameter (you used 22mm), are you measuring the surfacing bit where it cuts? For exanple, in the video you use a 1" surfacing bit, but the number you input is 22mm (not 1 inch). Where are you getting the 22 mm from?
The bit diameter you should set should be the exact diameter that you measure from the surfacing bit of where it cuts. The bit that I was using is a 22mm wide bit, it is not a 1" bit.
All that hard work to end up at 9:46 "we are not going to be making anything precise with this machine" has thrown the machines capability's down the toilet.
