I thought this was absurd when I first watched it... I couldn't have been more wrong, and my cheapy item was a cigarette lighter to double usb charging station. Had just put some new aftermarket wheels on my F150 and only knew that they had sensors in them but just figured they were the wrong ones after several failed attempts to train them. Was going to shell out almost $200 for new sensors and installation soon and just happened upon this video. Although it could be many things as Makuloco says, give this tip a try, it saved me so much just in time alone. Got in my truck and unplugged the usb charger as I joked to my wife what this bafoon on RU-vid said could be the problem....waited for the flashing light and information panel to indicate sensor failure as I would see every day.... We were driving down the road laughing and the sensor failure never happened again. Guess I'm the bafoon this time :-) Thank you FordTechMakuloco.

But then I decided to do a little research, and came across your video. I immediately took out my charger, and VOILA! The sensor fault light went out! You are my hero! My wife added a FM stereo / Bluetooth module to her 2004 Expedition. That day we lost the keyless entry and the TPMS. Did not think of them as the same issue but within 10 seconds of you saying they broadcast a signal it hit me like a ton of bricks. A week before I had the snow tires put on, I noticed the message on the dash of my 2010 Mustang. I mentioned it when I took it to the dealer. The mechanic swapping the tires said there was no problem he could detect. This video explains why. Thanks for posting this video. Super job.

I have been fighting this for 6 months before I found your video. After 20 minutes, I would get a message on the dash saying "TPMS Sensor Fault Error". Let it set for a few hours and again it takes 20 minutes for it to show up again. As best I can remember, this started about the time I installed a different dash cam that used a cigarette light plug for power, same as a cell phone charger. I removed the power source and voila, the problem went away. I can't thank you enough for this tip.

I 'd like to thank you very much for your adorable tip. You've fixed the biggest problem we had so far with our Acura TSX. We've got all the lights on in the middle of the highway, and we were very scarred. We didn't know what to do, and there was a long way home. After we got home, but couldn't fix it any way. All specialists recommended us to change all the sensors, which was kind of expensive. Everything became well after we removed the phone charger. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

I was running my 2008 Escape today on a 3-hour road trip with a Charger Doctor plugged into a 5v USB voltage regulator I had previously installed. The Charger Doctor is a cheap little device which monitors the regulator output and any current drawn by a device plugged into it. This was the first time I drove the car for any distance with the Charger Doctor attached to the regulator output AND the first time I got the tire pressure monitoring system error. I seriously doubt this is a coincidence. Your video most likely just saved me a lot of troubleshooting. THANKS!

I just bought a 2010 Ford F150 Platinum and everything was great, I drove up to get my kids and about half way back I got them a cheap charger and 20 minutes later the TPSM came on. Well long story short I came across this video and when we where driving back up the fault came on and I pulled the charger out and the fault went away. FordTechMakuloco You sir are the man! I've researched countless videos about this subject and have so far not been able to rectify my problem. As soon as you mentioned interferanhce, It felt like I was literally slapped in the head. I am an amateur radio operator ( HAM ) and recently installed a new UHF/VHF radio on my vehicle. Thats when the problem started ( like the police vehicle ). I disconnected the power lead to my radio and the LTPM went off. I thought this was a fluke so, I re connected the power and BAM there it is the LTPM. I have since installed a few ferrite beads on the power lead and the problem solved. This tid bit of info will be passed along. Thank you for providing this knowledge. Saved me money and time....Oh by the way - 2007 ford edge awd

Agreeing with all of these comments. Having this intermittent problem right now with passenger front sensor - this is probably why and I am suspecting a USB cable. This Channel is THE BEST, especially for us Ford owners. Every time I Google or RU-vid search a question or a problem, FordTechMakuloco comes up, and always seems to perfectly explain the situation. I subscribed a while back and now find myself just binge-watching these videos to learn something new. Spent over an hour at Les Schwab the other day, and they said the tires are in great shape, they couldn't figure out what was going on. After watching this video I realize this started right after I got a new, cheap, charger for my phone. I'll bet you that's what's going on. The TPMS alarm (in my '09 F150) has been annoying me for years, alarm comes in, goes away seemingly random, pressures all good... And when I take it to the tire store => no alarm, nothing to find or fix. I watched this video and added the information to my brain, but I didn't take any intentional action. We just completed a "quick" round trip to and from our other house (1000 mile round trip)....NO TPMS alarms the entire time.. what is different? We used the same USB cell phone chargers we always have... We left the (Magellan) GPS in wife's car and didn't take it with us... Brian I think you helped me inadvertently eliminate this annoyance.. THANX fella!!!

Wow this guy is a genius. This is EXACTLY what was wrong with my car. Ford Fusion and a FIFO charger. Go figure. The light reset almost immediately while I was driving.

I got the tire pressure warning a few days ago and check the tire pressure and it was fine. I was just on the way home charging my phone and it went on again I looked at this video and I have a cheap plugin while you were talking I unplugged it and within a minute the tire pressure went off thank you

Awesome man. As soon as you said interference from chargers I realized I put in a Bluetooth adapter right around the time I got the light. Pulled it out and it immediately went away!!! Thanks man.

Yes mine came on not long after I put in my blue tooth dongle... I'm going to go yank it out and I have a feeling the faults will be gone !

@@dannymac7852 Did it go off? My light came on about 15 minutes after I plugged my crappy phone charger in but when I unplugged it the light is still on even after driving for half hour. 🤷

@@jimh.412 unfortunately, the light stayed on. Every time I started the truck I would go thru the message ... and about a week later suddenly it stopped! Its come on twice more, at random times, and stayed on for about a week , then goes away... weird.

Thanks for this post. Had a 2011 Malibu with this very issue. Person took the aftermarket charging cable with them and TPMS issue would go away. Hopefully, manufacturers find the workaround for this problem because cheap electrical devices and cables are not going away.

You're the best. You're content is very helpful for me , as a Ford Escape 2010 holder. I've already fixed power steering assist fault, changed struts, stabilizers and spark plugs and now my FM transmitter went wrong. Thank you very much.

Mine started after installing new wheels and tires from custom offsets. Keep retraining them with the little push button remote thingy and every morning at a particular spot on my way to work that damn fault light and tpms fault on dash and blinking light.

Thank You for your advice. I have a situation on my 2005 Lincoln Aviator that is puzzling me. The passenger side window motor was replaced by the dealer and since then the auto up down feature stopped working. Manual up and down does works and I have tried several methods to correct this. Not much of an issue but as a hobbyist I have to fix this problem 🤣🤣 so I am reaching out to see if it is reparable maybe the unit is not compatible with this car.. Once again Thanks for the advice.
