if the devs aren't willing to control the community they shouldn't be surprised when the community gets out of control. Trove is understaffed and overstressed and until gamigo puts more employees behind trove to bring sanctions on cheaters its only going to get worse. not to mention the dupe is basically unpatchable without remaking troves code from scratch because of how flawed it is

Shouldn’t have locked important parts of progression behind such a massive time gate. They had years to realize this, but they haven’t. Devs had it coming and the next time another exploit is found, there’ll be people lining up to take advantage of it.

The problem with this game is literally the Developers. All I can see in updates is either more broken stuff with each maintenance or cash-grabbing stuff being added. I have never seen them actively try to combat the in-game exploiters or have anything relevant in place to stop duping. This is killing the game and from my perspective they are turning a blind eye. A ban here and there will not stop anything as they can just make a new account. Find the problem and fix it - also shoutout to Entombed 🤓

The really problem is devs, they seem not working. 1 month and credit pouch went from 500k to 50m ._. (Ps4 na).

So i was playing Trove again more offten bc I really like it and then I got these skelly boxes and wow went from 25k pr to 40k within a week and also gained 200 mr . At this point I heard about duping but not about skelly duping . Its sad that the marketplace is very broken

On console, not PC, so I dont believe we have this issue yet. We also dont get mods either. Our gamep,ay is slightly different due to this. Our grind time is longer than you guys on PC. As far as the toxic part.... You are right. It is bad enough that it even affects us console players. It causes our updates to get pushed back even farther, more server issues, and at theend of the day... if the devs were to say, Call it Quits over this toxic crap, it kills it for all of us. I say... BANN THEM ALL.

yk its actually crazy for once the only time i actually feel enticed enough to play the game is during yet again another duping scandal this isnt the first time this happened and if im being honest you were right to say that a good majority of trove's comm doesnt care that def includes me ive been playing since beta/alpha with 10,000 hrs i believe im probably top 200 on sh and i was in every top club i can say for certain ive been cheated and scammed out of my precious time more often then not playing this game lead me to a deep depression to the point my mental had broken and i was sick so when i see stuff like this happen all i can think is "you reap what you sow" i dont blame the devs although i 100% blame the big corps running the dev team and forcing their hand constantly trying to waste everyone's time maybe now finally these big corps will let the devs roam free for once

While i get where the video was coming from i think the recent behavior has caused the developers to act. The video uploader seems salty that the exploit is patched and they can no longer use it themselves. They blame everything on the duplicators and they fail to see that if this skelly guy wasnt open about it people would be duping for much longer behind closed doors and developers would continue to do nothing about it. Glad we have people like skelly in the community to cause the developers to get off their buts from time to time.

I agree with banning the cheaters and cracking down on everything. But at the end of the day, this game has a serious FOMO problem. Apmost everything in the game is beyond timegated and it doesnt respect your time at all. I'd be fine with timegating if i cpuld actually guarantee id get something worth using. But i can go weeks to months of lunar souls and not get a single great empowered gem. This week (around 15 boxes) didnt even get a stellar. So i wait 1 full week for absolute garabage. Either give me terrible RNG, but let me grind infinitely, or less rng with timegating. But both is like spitting in our faces honestly.

This game straight up needs rebuilt. Such potential wasted with every patch.

The amount of resources you need for upgrading gems / crafting dragons / upgrading gear is laughable tho. It's not about the normal resources it's about the time gated ones. Trove expects you to wait weeks to upgrade one singular gem to max or craft a dragon and now years to max gear? Honestly that's not a fair grind it's not even worth. I don't see a problem in duping in trove because it actually makes the game playable. If the updates were actually worth the grind and playtime I would be against cheating. But holy shit, the devs don't even know their game. The ingame purchasable items are not even close to being worth, the amount of items needed for upgrades is so unreasonably high that I don't care atp about cheaters.

So the devs need to give bigger and better updates. The updates we have been getting are small updates that should have been put in a much shorter time. Also, Xbox players got a horrible rereward because of us missing several updates, so they should have gotten more than just a couple of xp pots, a gold companion, and some patron. Xbox players should have gotten better compensation.

Trove going downhill even further? Lmao, what a surprise! Used to play this for like 2-3 years, back before they ever introduced the disaster that is delves and geode caves. I think there has always been cheating, and a big ego/narcissism/elitist toxicity in the community ever since we had purple names for dotm speedruns. Further on, people started teleporting to 5 stars, and there was trains for that too. Or the most obvious, skipping shadow towers floors, straight to the final boss, and mass farming that for shadow caches. I think its up to each individual I guess. There isn't really an excuse or genuine reason for cheating, it's just bad character from the person behind the screen and computer, pretty simple. Problem is definitely the devs and the road this game has taken, VERY p2w, milking the hell out of it. So, that's why I think players also stopped caring, but that doesn't excuse their actions. I did report players but nothing ever happened to them. Even recorded and sent evidence to support of an actual hacker developer, doubt anything happened. I'm glad I moved on and never looked back, it really hasn't gotten better. Each person decides for themselves if they want to continue playing though.

People started cheating because of the games grindy and obviously intentionally designed format to make players want to spend their money. The gring for some things is so absurdly long and boring that people would rather just throw money at the game. So when supers crashed the market and allowed people to finally get what they wanted in the game without spending MONTHS OF THEIR LIVES. Of course they'll do it. I don't blame them. Maybe if the Devs had designed the game to not be pay to win and allow players to make reasonable and rewarding progress people wouldn't have felt the need to cheat.

Don't ever say Richoffskellys is funny. That encourages the habit of cheating and trolling. If the man's getting a rye, he's gonna feel emboldened to keep doing what he's doing. DONT FEED THE TROLLS. Rule number 1 of any MMO. It's also hard to appeal to the games major audience, kids. Kids are kids man. Impatient, reactive, easily exploited, all things a game hacker/cheater loves. Its almost how they make their supply and demand for exploits. I feel like the rational chain of thought connecting cheating to servers shutting down or any sort of backend problem requires more of a developed pre-frontal cortex than most of the kids, and sadly adults playing the game have. To cut a long story and big issue short, I wish the game had an actual anti-cheat system implemented, or a way to report players for duping and exploiting the game specifically in that regard.
