So, no electricity & lights, no internet, the company closed, the food in my ref was all thrown away, and all the businesses around were closed. So as a South African we are proud of the new "It girl" Tyla. What I've realized is when these big record companies come for you, they flood the zone, so to speak. There's no place on social, or even traditional media where Tyla in this case is not in your face. You'll be spammed with content of a given artist. It's crazy how the "just give me a mic so I can sing" artists get shunned for the next mildly talented baddie. It's criminal that Katrina and her ilk are not all over our airwaves, because what you witnessed in her version of 'Araw Gabi' is freak'n insane.
That’s true tbh. I mean at some point you’re no longer simply an artist you become a machine. They want to create a structure that sets them up for the right consistency to always sell. Then they make a trend out of that and milk that dry until they move onto the next that breaks out whether an artist or a sound. It’s quite the industry bc it makes you wonder how important is the talent anymore I fear. You have made some serious point I have to say again my friend. Also thanks for watching! Whitney was the niece of what was by that time already a legend. Celine was married to an industry exec, and MC literally was married to Sony's big boy. So if those talents did not have that kind of serious backing, someone whod probably have sat on their demos till they were forced into a regular 9 to 5.
