For the past decade I've lived 5 miles from the Pacers arena yet still root for the Pistons. This is the first year I've ever considered jumping ship. Not sure if I'm more disgusted with the Pistons or myself.
Imma always rock with my Pistons but man this trade deadline was BRUTAL. Troy Weaver making moves just to make them. There is NO PLAN AT ALL. JUST LIKE THAT RESTROATION PLAN WAS A JOKE!!
He made more money off that rookie contract ($24 mil) than we will make combined... for the rest of our lives. Denigrating hard-working delivery folks to fail like this is in bad taste.
We got something for Bogey and Burks as opposed to nothing this offseason. Grimes is a guy under contract that is decent enough. We still have cap flexibility and can trade our 1st this offseason. We got rid of expiring players, acquired 2 possibly 3 with Troy Brown, players to come off the bench for cheap next year, and kept the cap open
I don't why this hard. This literally means the direction is defense and shooting. Grimes good defender who can shoot. Simone Fontecchio can guards 3 through 5 and shoot. Adding those two with Ausar now gives Detroit 3 long athletic wings to take pressure off of Cade and Ivey. Samuel defender. The biggest issue a with the Pistons all season has been they play zero defense. Getting rid of Bojan, Hayes, and Burks means more minutes for Sasser. Who can now be the primary guard off the bench. Detroit could have a lineup of Fontecchio, Cade, Ivey, Ausar, and Duren. Bringing in Sasser, Troy Brown, Grimes, Stu, Muscala, and Galo off the bench. Which Is way better than having Burks and Bojan the living turnstiles on defense. Detroit is now deeper. They took a stepback on offense to game defense. Why is that hard to understand? I know why because they aren't big names.
Ok, but Ivey and Cade are never going to be able to play together. They needed to trade one of them. These players they brought in aren’t changing anything. Shuffling around bench players and waiving all these players is idiotic and is pure general management mal practice.
@@bsheaves Move the goal post huh. How do you know that Cade and Ivey can't work? They haven't even played a lot of minutes together. The reason they haven't been totally successful yet is because of the play design of the coach. Ivey should have been the lead ballhandler from the beginning with Cade being the secondary in the starting lineup. Why. Because Ivey can collapse the D with his elite burst, speed and athleticism. Cade is better off ball then Ivey. Then give each more min on ball by staggering the minutes as the Point. Ivey and Cade can work if Monty starts coaching better. Monty now has everything he wants. He has wing depth now. He still has 3pt shooting and a better bench. Everything seems to fit now. I'll make you a bet Detroit plays .500 the rest of the season because the team now has balance. These moves makes Cade, Ivey, Ausar and Duren better. Duren no longer has to make up for the defensive liability that Bojan was. I can't wait to see a lineup with Grimes, Ausar, and Simone and Duren. They are to apply real pressure on opposing offenses. A true basketball fan can clearly see the vision clearly.
I just looked at today's moves and I don't see anything that makes me think Troy is competent. He made all of the draft picks he should have so that was easy to not screw up, except for Killian. For a guy they have called 'Trader Troy' he has a lot of trades that just haven't worked out. Out side of the Grant trade that he managed to turn in to Duren has anything worked tradewise?
The Bogey spin is the only thing that really pisses me off. If we make the trade a year ago, we could have additional first round picks. Cokehead Tom and Troy wanted to be prideful and bet on themselves. That was the first cardinal sin.
It was hard growing up with the pistons in late 70s and 80s but got on top with bad boys i thought those teams were bad which they were but this team and the last 16 years unbelievable im just glad im not a kid growing up michigan now i would hate thrm for good damn lol who would pay a ticket to watch garbage
It's obvious what Troy Weaver is doing. He's cleaning house to let these young guys play together. Sasser and Ausar will get more playing time. He is going to take these last 30 games to see how well they play together. I can see a starting Line up Cade, Ivey, Ausar, Fontecchio, Duren. With Sasser, Grime, Gallinari, Muscala, Stewart, Wiseman manning the Bench.
@lbt782 idk what he was doing b4 he got here, but since he has been here, COMPLETE TRASH. And don't get it twisted. Gore's is trash for letting Weaver be trash at his job.
I remember them over the Summer saying to write him a blank check. Well they did and he didn't even want to come here, but couldn't turn down the money. He has been a terrible coach. If Mike and Rico didn't want him to come here they'd be reminding us about it everyday, but you're right that was their guy so never a bad word about Monty.
You guys don't get it!! Pistons got rid of their biggest weakness : defensive black holes...and added very good defensive players in Grimes and Fontechhio with good long range capabilities and on top, are increasing minutes of their good defensive players like Asaur!! Only defensive player will be missed is Hayes but he was a liability on offense! This will be a good nucleus for the rest of the season and gives a great opportunity to add another good player through trade! They are now following in footsteps of.....Lions!! Good talented young players, who want to play unselfish, as a team, and want to do dirty, hard work and excel through it!!!
Troy walked into a dumpster fire. How quickly we forget. This team had no young players and was in salary cap hell. Now we actually have young players and cap space. Y’all are so ridiculous with this crap. Their top 4 young players should still be in college. Relax. You guys want the overnight fix and that was never going to happen (unless we lucked into Wemby).
@@deeessex11 uhh. Yes. Cause he literally ran our team into the ground. The Blake trade might have set us back 10 years. Troy was not going to fix it in 3-4 years. He gets one more lottery pick then hopefully on the upswing. There is talent here. The skill level just needs to improve though.
