Great! The original European Colorfrivers were all 18 volts internal. They only went to 9 volts when they started exporting them to the states. So this would be the authentic deal right here.

With the V40 Deluxe, anything - even my shoes with strings - can sound great! How i love this amp! U did the right choice for this demo, Alberto.

Have had the 9v version for a few years and run it into a Hiwatt clone and it’s fantastic. It’s got a certain ragged messiness and unpredictability that a I really enjoy. It’s definitely a unique drive flavor to have on your board.

Check out the DevTech Audio Powerdriver 18 and Powerdriver standard. True to original circuit, but cheaper. Handmade in Australia and using vintage components. Like tropical fish caps in the 18 model (Powerboost). Or Philips BC109's in the standard model (Overdriver). All on Reverb

Fine pedal worth considering, although I was expecting a greater increase in headroom over the 9v version than what I heard here. Perhaps the increased headroom is more apparent when playing it in person?

18 volts because more is more. And more is better.

Sometimes I'll stomp on the pedal in just the right way and the LED stays on even when the drive is off. Is it still raising my headroom when the LED is on or is it a glitch and i'm getting placebo?
