Thank you for doing this in-depth and thorough review of these very nice LED bulbs. The founder of Tru-Tone -- David Andora -- is a Christmas lighting expert that obviously knows his stuff and has the drive and connections to bring these wonderful bulbs, strings and packaging to market. He has taken every step possible to create modern LED lamps and strings that very closely capture the charm and warmth of vintage incandescent lights. He has managed to find bulb shapes, colors, and technical designs that are damn near perfect. I've seen attempts by others that have weird bulb shapes or the LED filaments are way too bright. These are an impeccable replacement for incandescents, and I hope the success of his designs and marketing will spur others to come up with really good designs rather than some of the sloppy and inferior efforts I have seen. What I would love to see is an inside-coated version of this lamp. I am not sure that the pigments used in the old varieties (mostly from the '40s and '50s) are still environmentally viable, but some sort of inside coated lamp would cause me to pee in my pants.
They are nice, but for the price it would have been more justified if they were American made. The made in China origin just kinda kills my perception of quality.
But yet they seem to be still the only ones that can do it right. I'm sure they have their own engineering that happens in the US, but everything is assembled in China to save on manufacturing costs. The issue with Chinese products here is that the work is cheap and also materials.
The old ge bulbs had that really deep color, they did get really hot. I may still have a few somewhere. Looked at the true tone bulbs and considering getting the c7 led in both varieties.
These True - Tone C7 LED light bulbs are absolutely amazing!! Their color is perfect, they dim very well, and the design of these C7s are awesome for sure! I would definitely recommend them highly. Thanks again for sharing this video.
That’s really cool. I still use strands of c7 incandescents outside my house for Christmas. We’ve had the strands for a decade and all we do is replace the bulbs whenever we need to
I bought some LED C9 bulbs from Christmas Lights, Etc. and honestly really regret not having some of these Tru Tone bulbs. I was hoping for the classic C9 look but what I got was a blinding light rainbow of lights. While they are bright and pretty, they're definitely not the look I was going for. That's ~$200 down the drain...
