The thing mounted above your compressor is an oil separator for crankcase gases. Has a stack of discs that spin around inside. Unlees it starts puking oil out the vent tube you're more then likely never going to touch that. Your did a fine job on that swap!

My Dad was an owner driver before he passed earlier this year. Often helped him change multi-leaf springs on his old 111. Great memories

Sandy, if you buy the female coupling that fits on the bottom of the radiator, you will save yourself a lot of time, and money. You can also make yourself a pump to pump your antifreeze back, backfilling will also eliminate air in the system. The red coating on the bolts is loctite. When using the blue loctite, only use a drop, especially if it needs to come back out. I have seen 3rd year apprentices struggle with that job. Keep up the good work.

Feel your pain been there...you just have to take that step & give it a go. probably £400 in labour saved there.This is how owner drivers survive.

You did a better job than some mechanics I've worked with I'd look at getting some shorter handled ratchets even with a Flexi head they will make life alot easier running bolts in and out

That unit above the compressor is an air mister separator. Should check it yearly to ensure it’s not seized. Can be done with a multimeter and an abs sensor

Well done mate, I've been an HGV mechanic for getting on 20 years now in one form or another, I started in the Army and now I am doing Fire Engines. I still get nervous turning the key after replacing something, and still get that elation when it works!
