Sorry your having that issue. I agree that GM should be helping with loaner or rental. In addition if always been told if the transmission isn't messing up do not mess with it, period. I've a couple of chevrolet trucks with over 100k miles and one with 150k and have never cracked open the transmission ever. I have a 2021 AT4 2500 and I hope that I don't have this issue. Good luck hopefully you get it back soon.

Did you file a complaint with GM on this? I had a 2020 Silverado 2500. The output shaft broke it took them over a month to get the parts and make the repair. GM gave me a check for a months payment. File a case with GM ASAP

We recently bought a used 2016 Ram from our local Chevy dealer. The transmission went about 2 weeks after pickup about 4 hours from where we bought it. That dealership not only took care of the tranny but also delivered a loaner car to us, 4 hours away, and towed the truck back to work on it. We are unbelievably happy with them!

@TheRoamingGomes never understood why they use a light duty transmission in a heavy duty truck...look into the RevMax valve body and a slight trans tune to bring trans line pressure up around 220 to help hold clutches together longer..just a thought

Can't pick on GM without picking on every vehicle manufacture that sells in the USA. Since covid EVERYONE has gone to shit. Ram/Dodge/Stallanis is by far the worst for ordering parts. The service is the dealer not the manufacture. And this applies to appliances-lawn mowers-tractors-parts-heater/a/c units. Quality of everything has gone way down. Money first - quality ha ha there is none.

Sorry to hear this happened to u guys. I have heard of this problem after 2020 models but no one has posted a video on it. Thanks for sharing. We are so glad our tow vehicle is the last generation with a real Allison transmission (2019 denali 3500 )

I have a 2020 2500hd ltz diesel and it's a lemon. 59,570 miles and have experienced 48 codes. I have the spreadsheet. Left us stranded in several states... Had to cancel 4 trips so far while other trips had problems. Chevrolet DOES NOT stand behind their products. You can always do what on-star told me to do when you experience problems, pull over - turn off truck - open driver's door - wait 20 seconds - close the door - start the truck - and go on your way. I am done with it. This whole, pay a 195 dollars diagnostic fee, only for them to say, "We have no clue" and disconnect the batteries and clear the codes. Or they put a bigger fuse in and say, that should fix it. I truly feel we need reform in the auto and the RV industry. Of all my problems, the transmission isn't one of them.

BTW... at 92k I had huge issues with my Def heater, pump, etc. After the 5th time and reduced power, I reached out to a shop in Canada. $1800. Now, trouble free and I have 190k. BTW... I'm a retired ASE Tech and jet mechanic.. (civilian & military)

You would be amazed at the number of trucks that are doing this in my area. However, the soon to be vans that will pull you over to inspect is coming. Also, I want to go to other states to visit and several are focusing on those clouds that come out.

Sorry to hear this. I run a 2016 GMC Denali with the real Allison transmission. I did the complete transmission service with internal and external filter at 92k. Nice videos ( James B., Wave Express)

Buy a ford 5500, cab and chasis and put on a utility box with a 60 g tank for range. For what you do, I feel like it would be a better solution.

You can get an off-lease two-axle class-8 with a Detroit Diesel, automatic and a small sleeper. That’s whats required to tow this thing.

all 10 speeds have problems, I have the 6 speed and have 700,000 miles on it. No Issues. thats why i have not got a new one yet. I work for Horizon. Hope you get fixed soon.

Your truck doesn't have a tru Allison transmission. They still call it an Allison but it's not. It's made over seas now but they kept the Allison name .

Technically it's not a Allison transmission. It was built by GM and Ford. The only thing that is Allison on that transmission is the name

I was traveling down the interstate at 80mph (Idaho) in my company 2020 Chevy Duramax with the Allison tranny towing a trailer and the tranny downshifts to first gear and locks up, starts skidding for no reason whatsoever for about a hundred feet and the releases. People behind me were slamming on their bakes and swerving to not hit me. It did this three different times, scary as hell. Chevrolet finally put a new valve body in it and it never happened again. I had so many emissions issues this truck it lived in the shop, all with less than 70k on it.

Unfortunately, until they redesign the valve body and how the pump is positioned, it will happen again after the repair. A friend I know is a GM tech told me this about the 10 speed. I wanted a Denali 3500 to tow our Riverstone. He told me not to buy one until they have a permanent fix. So I bought a 2022 Ram 3500. So far so good with the Ram. Good Luck!

Had a 2020 2500 Ram 6.7 Longhorn. At 4200 miles CP4 came apart. Truck set in shop 6 months. Dealership gave me loaner 2020 2500 larime. Demontrond Ram. It was a headache.

Are we ever going tonight get caught up from COVID? The truck manufacturers have gotten worse way overpriced prices of💩! I have a 2010 GMC Sierra had to put the valve body in it at 125,000 miles it has 205,000 on it now. Good luck think I’m going to order a 2025 Riverstone 39RKFB, watching your channel and BTBRV’s review of Riverstone made me a believer! I was #100 ringing the bell

I dont know much about the GM's but i got an 18 cummins to do rv transport with, and has the Asian trans.. got it with 98k on it and waited till 293k to even service the trans and at 302k now with no problems. Good luck with that though, hopefully everything gets resolved soon for you two!!

I feel so bad for you folks.. The problem is corporate greed, and you can't pay both shareholders, employees, and customer support. We have to stop buying these brands until they die or they start back on customers service.

Allison "branded" transmission..trade it in on a ram 3500 with the cummins and Aisin transmission. Too bad dealership can't use a performance part from RevMax or someone like that. Best of luck guys

If you have to cover cost of repairs, keep track of ALL of the costs including rentals, etc. Large law firms are gathering information for class action lawsuits. If you sign up with one of them, you might get a few bucks back someday. I did the RV transport for a few years too, sucks for your truck to be down for so long especially since it's so new. Sitting at home for weeks when you should be making money is disappointing.

I know everyone has there brand but I had a 2008 6.7 Cummins Ram 2500 sold it sold it with 180000 miles got a 2020 found out they put the CP4 in them and sold it to but the 2021 because they started putting the CP3 back in them. Towed a 38 ft. 5th wheel all over the country from Ga to California from Ga to Washington State to Ohio at least 10 times. Alot of Heavy Towing. My Uncles Chevy blew the CP4 and after a 12000.00 bill he now owns a RAM and loves it. I dont think i will ever go with another brand after owning The Rams Ford and Chevy have used the CP4s and did nothing fix them, Ram has recalled them that says alot right there. There were alot of people Stuck with a hefty repair bill. Good luck so sorry for your troubles

It’s the Dealership that provides FREE loaner cars. We have to drive my wife’s Subaru to Spokane, WA (a3 hour drive) if her car needs maintenance other than an oil change.

I have been a GM person for many years. Service is getting horrible. My 2022 Chevy 3500HD Duramax had a transmission leak at 22,000 miles. Took over a month to get into the shop to diagnose just to be told the seal in on national back order and they had no idea when it would be available. That was two months ago and still haven't heard anything. After researching this leaking seal is occurring to lots of the 10 speed.

Get in touch with a lemon lawyer on them . Helped me with my Ram 2020 when the fuel pump went out at 35k miles. They'll get you money for the issue

The parts department know when they order the valve body who has it and or location. They can also FedEx the part to your location... Service writers k ow crap...

Been looking at diesel trucks to start the job but every channel i watch seems to be having breakdowns. I think ill start with drive away. i can fix my tow car with a 5 dollar roll of duck tape. Wont make as much but wont have to spend as much.

HDT would also be a great solution for ya, 23 with 75 k. Dude you need to sit down and figure out a better solution..You can get a semi cheaper than a ton-er..Time to make a move bro..
