Just a little tip if you would like too keep the mice out of the truck while it's in storage! Get yourself a box of Bounce dryer sheets & stick some under the hood & in the cab. I put them in glovebox, under seats, in air inlets...you name it! And they smell good! Works great! I've been doing it for years!

I like this truck as it is a dually I have a soft spot for this style of truck

Set up stainless wheel simulators would make old girl look awesome. I got 2 of those trucks a 4 door cummins swapped and a regular cab 454 gas . both 4x4. Wont trade them .

FYI you always check the gaps cause the parts boys throw those boxes around messing up the gaps. the disk gaper are ok for those plugs or cheaper plugs but on your more expensive platinum or irridiam ones you want to use the wire type so you dont scratch off the precious metal

I know the battery is 13yrs old, but you could always try opening the top caps and seeing if each cell is properly flooded. If you can see dry plates, add some (preferably distilled) water to bring it at least 1/2 to 3/4 of an inch liquid over the plates. The battery may play nicely again, but due to its age, I'd guess she's pretty well due for retirement and replacement. Gapping plugs - my Dad could gap them by eye, and if you didn't believe him, you could check with the tool; it was a rare occasion that he'd be off by very much. He was also great at telling you what size wrench or socket was needed, and could convert between SAE and Metric sizes on-the-fly. I'll probably finish out my life and be lucky to grab a handful of wrenches or sockets from the toolchest and have the one I really need each time, much less be able to judge the size by merely looking, OR converting sizes between one unit of measure and another. Although, I have better luck remembering the size from having done the job once before. Hey, right near the end of the video, are you falling behind on the lawn mowing duties there, Nate ?

I miss working on retro engines, so easy to work on, my engine is full electronic crap.

The rotor is more important to change out than the cap, as the rotor will burn through and carbon arc, causing misfires.

Keep a good ignition control module in the glove box.

You really need to get a bottle of additive for the gas before you store it. If you do not the gas will go bad and it will not want to start or worse.

Copper plugs definitely dont last the lifetime of a vehicle, but some vehicles just run better on them. I know that AMC cars run the best on champion coppers. Strange because those are cheap plugs but it wont run as nicely on other plugs.

I would of gone with acdelco plugs tbh since they were factory the issue with other brands is the heat ranges aren't consistent across all manufacturers

Did you scrape the posts/contacts of the dissy cap after replacing the rotor button? Can't beat an old fashioned set of feeler gauges for gapping plugs and points and for adjusting valve clearance etc....

One of the best things to improve performance and mpg is to get rid of the catalytic converter. I did it to a 95 model and it made a world of difference.

Perhaps you could also tie a sheet of something over the air box opening when it is finally parked just for good measure, but even then I don't know that mice are going to make the effort unless you let it set for quite a while. Maybe a couple layers of tinfoil over it like a glove and some baling wire to keep it in place.

Checkout Milestar Grantland tires on amazon or Walmart really cheap but I've had really good luck with them balance well got 20k on first set no issues sold tht vehicle my current vehicle 26k miles on the tires no issues

Okay I have the same problem with the brake lights and I also have a slow start I have always had a problem with a short or something I need to figure out why I can't get it inspected for my brake lights my brake lights do not work
