My name is Nathan and I am living full-time in my RV. Patches is a 1989 Winnebago Superchief on a 1988 Chevy P30 Chassis with a 7.4l BBC 454. She is 35 feet long, rear bumper to front bumper. Follow me around as I live a nomad lifestyle being off the grid, boondocking, traveling and work on the RV making repairs and completing upgrade projects!
You’re gonna freeze in South Dakota or Montana. Montana had massive snow just a couple weeks ago. Not gonna be anything like Washington or Oregon it’s gonna be two months of not freezing basically every year and very very desolate very windy very lonely😢
dextron 3 was phased out, the replaced it with dex/merc. if I'm not mistaken they are phasing that out too. if you cant find the dex/merc dextron VI is the replacement for II and III. put you a bottle of lucus stop slip in as well.
Just sell all the computer monitors.. and the brake smell is probably sticking front callipers .. I’d recommend replacing them and the hydraulic hoses..right away.. when they stick to the point the steering wheel starts shaking.. you risk a fire and or warped rotor. Need to check the rotors temperature after a few hard stops.. then drive a few miles and coast to a stop and check the temperature of each rotor
I had this happen on my truck, replaced the calipers, flushed the system and it still was happening. Turns out the front rubber lines were causing the issue. Before I replaced everything it would take 1/2 mile before the rotors were glowing.
@@White000Crow exactly , I say replace both hoses and callipers as he drives far.. and can’t be stressed out and stranded ..plus that vehicle sat for a long time.. moisture goes to the lowest part of the system.
If the misfire feeling you’re experiencing , is say intermittently and very light.. not a definite drop.. then it’s probably not ignition related.. more like fuel .. not sure if you did anything with the injectors ? Is the EGR still on it ?
Nate, check your wiring for bite marks from mice, then check ALL your grounds especially engine to chassis. Trans to chassis. I had almost the same problem but I had no 3rd and 4th gear. I had a family of mice who decided to chew on the wiring. It took me a couple of days but once I cleaned all ground straps and wiring and fixed the chewed wires my Chevy no longer has that problem.
I gotta do the same.. less is more ! I have a bunch of them Amazon bubble envelopes.. and a few boxes and junk in my storage shed. And for what, all I do is move it around.. such waste of time, space and energy.
South Dakota would welcome you with open arms winters are tough here, but you would be looking at probably living the western part of the state where it’s a little warmer, but they do get their snow like in the Black Hills area
I drove a GM and had problems with 4th gear. Come to find out my 4th gear was my "LOCK-OUT". The lockout is in your torque converter. I ignored it until it stuck on "Locked. Ever drive with a busted clutch cable? Yup Put it in drive; Direct drive first gear. CHIRP, STALL. Look into testing your lockout electrics. My problem was solved with a simple replacement of an electric solenoid connector.
That twirling is called "HUNTING" Dude you need to give yourself allot more space to launch and learn. You don't know how close you came to smashing that drone to bits hitting your rv. And HUNTING is not a one time thing. It's a GPS thing combined with your on board gyros. Anything can cause interference with the gps and remote control network connection. Always have plenty of room for error when taking off.
Great work Nate. Seriously do not sell that Truck. Its the most valuable thing you own. You can live in the back of it now you fixed the canopy. You may end up doing that again. Also you always look like the peak of professionalism and respectability after a hair cut. 😂
Great job! May I suggest using a c -clamp and a couple boards on either side of the tailgate wrinkle….clamp boards or pieces of small sheet metal down until the dent straightens out?
For the tailgate take a four inch tie down strap find someplace on the fame of the truck find someplace inside the box and start cranking the tailgate back into alignment. Coff Coff I have had to do that a time or two.
Go to Harbor Freight and buy some of their $3 dollar C-clamps and put them between your existing canopy clamps. That's what I use. They're cheap and they work perfectly for that application.
Years ago, I used two 8' pieces of 1x3 spruce to keep the lip on my cap from distorting.. Even 2x2 will work. IMO, keep the truck until you finish the Class A & consider welding up a towbar for the truck to relocate. BTW.. A suggestion RE: the warped back door.. use a cutoff blade in your grinder to carefully scribe each weld nearly all the way through. Then block up both ends of the door off the ground with the arch of the warp facing up under the frame of the RV. Use the truck jack or a bottle jack between the RV frame & the middle of the door to push down of the door to take out the warp plus a bit for spring back.. Wishing the best for you, Dennis WB8DT
Great job the wire loom sections that you made were genius you’re very resourceful I’m glad you washed that back window I was freaking out thinking oh my God you’re gonna put the shell back on without washing the window lol
