TRUCKER NAVIGATING TOUGH TURNS IN SMALL TOWN PA 

People won't really get it.. unless you know what it's like when you're down a road having to turn around and no easy way to do it. Anxiety... hence the sighing. Been there many times in my W900L

Do they put them 200’ after you turn like in Michigan?

@@blauer2551 Those signs mean no thru trucks, so local pick up & delivery, you should be okay unless you come upon a low bridge or over pass. He had directions written down on a sticky pad, I guessing form one of the two delivery companies. Been there, done that even in Michigan, never had a problem.

@@bigbear5510 the low bridge sign after I made the turn was the one that got me. Had to pull over and google the best place to block traffic for a few minutes.

@@blauer2551 Copy that. I had directions from my company that sent me right into a low overpass once. Luckily I was able to back into a side street & get turned around. Ended up calling the place that I was delivering to get directions from where I was. Looked similar to where the USA Truck driver tried to make a U-turn here on RU-vid, posted about 5 years ago, he was probably going to the same place because they never change the directions even where you send the correct ones to them. That happened about 2 years after I left USA Truck.

@@callthemall yeah, it’s a T2000 sleeper with a six axle and a moffet that I turn the wheel sideways to stay legal. The front four are the lifts so it turns like a 53’ with a big kick out.

@@bigbear5510 yea I know.. I'm a long driver myself.. Just saying when you don't want to get yourself in a jam, the sign is posted down the road vs being on the corner and visible before making the turn.

Don’t expect to make any more money as an owner operator vs a company guy. It may look like you’re making more money but sooner or later the truck will suck it all back in repairs. Pretty much all your free time will go into working on the truck/doing paperwork.etc. Honestly if you’re just looking to cruise down the road driving truck your whole life, and don’t want to worry about the extra stress and hassles of owning your own truck, it’s worth it to stay a company guy. I bought my truck mostly because I plan on expanding with my own trucking company and hire on a fleet of drivers, and you can’t do that being a company driver your whole life! With that being said there’s freedom in being able to do what you want with the truck, and Chrome becomes a tax write off! Haha. You can also write off your cell phone, part of your house/rent, personal vehicle mileage.etc BUT it is more work to keep all that in check. Hope that helps you!

Thanks I never actually heard of that, I just replaced them about a month ago and they’re dry as a bone haha, drives me crazy too just didn’t think I could do anything about it!
