You didn't say anything about language. I know English is a global language but I imagine paperwork would be written in which ever country you're in.
@Raul689

You are right, I forgot to mention the language barrier. Even tho it's an international language, you will still meet people who don't want to speak English. Mostly in Germany. The paperwork can be filled out in English though

I would think the idea of the flash is to let you know you're clear to return to the lane, you made it past safely. No high beam though;)

Nice vid Raul. I used to truck in UK but I moved to Canada 3 years ago, talk about a massive difference to Europe. Much bigger trucks and trailers but also the roads. Personally I think it’s easier except for the winter weather! Anyway enjoy your vlogs mate thanks 🙏

Y’all tripping? Canada really went to the crapper in the last twenty years and it became a living h e l l since the woke numbskull Justin (Castro) Turdeau and the plandemic! Anywho, I’ve owned and drove my own trucks allover the lower 48 states, the 10 provinces and the NW and Yukon territories of Canada and up into Prudhoe Bay, Alaska for about 35 years now and I can attest with certainty that trucking has always been a tough and rough industry with the tendency to go from bad to worst only, but let me tell ya, in these days trucking in North America is a dead horse! Stay where you at and don’t come here ‘cause there ain’t nothing worth crossing an ocean for here! Y’all take care now and God bless!

Just like to say that Lorry Driver's in the UK have special flashing lights rules. 1.Your trailer has passed and you are safe to return to lane 1. 2.Im giving way so you proceed. 3.Other driver's we know traveling in the opposite direction. 4.Police speed trap ahead. 5.Kids on bridge's waving. Are highway code says we are wrong in doing this. Please respect the HGV driver's light code which everyone knows in the UK.

Awesome video as always, Raul 👏🏻 I myself fancy some EU work at some point. Even though I’ve been pulling trailers here in the UK for 6 years, I still think it would be a big step up to drive on the other side of the road, in a right hooker, when I don’t understand what the road signs are telling me 🤣🤣🤣

I walk my dogs past the local truck park (E16) here in Norway early every morning. Always interesting to see what's parked up each day and who seems to be a regular. Great vid as usual Raul.

Thank you for the video Raul,very informative.i have 2 years uk experience on class 1,and seriously thinking to try to find a job in Austria or Germany,so i could be a lot closer to my family at my home country.but there are a few things im unsure about.1 if i can use my uk qualifications \licence in Austria or Germany, 2 i dont speak German,only English or Hungarian , 3 I don’t know anyone over there. 😂 so i must admit im a bit scared to take on that kind of challenge.most importantly i wanted to know the differences driving as a hgv driver in these countries.thanks again Raul 👍

Hi Raul, considering a career change and getting into truck driving. Love driving and long roadtrips so think it would be right for me in a way. Where were you based for the long haul trips to Scotland? Im based on the Staffordshire/Shropshire border, wondering what kind of work would be a realistic commute

Evening Raul any chance of a video explaining how companies bid for loads and how much a company will get for example a load of hay from England to Scotland how does it work. Or for example when you took apples to Scotland how much to take the apples from a2b. I am sure a lot of people would watch this . PS East Midlands Railway want Trainee train Drivers along with a lot of Rail companies Come and join us on the Railway , them do a video Truck to Train, Raul the train driver . A class 1 truck max weight 44 ton , some freight trains with stone each wagon is100 ton loaded , some have 15 wagans 3000 ton i Driver , big stopping distance . Take care great video as always Saw a video other day class 1 tramper £15 per for driving if you are unloading , waiting or on break £13 son average pay for the week is just minimun wage Not good they do not deserve drivers

I’m a truckie in Italy. We usually drive 90km/h, some roads like in Veneto or Emilia Romagna you gotta stick to 80km/h and no overtaking which can be frustrating when you follow a guy doing 70km/h. At night, they always do roadwork on the highways, so you gotta learn to exit and detour on normal city roads and then rejoin a little further. You should not have an issue with the language in north Italy but further you go down south the less they have the need to know English, just bring your google translate. Be respectful, even if some are not 🤷🏻‍♂️ and you should not have any problems 😉

1:17 "What the hell is that?" Well if you asked for it. If it's about "flashing after you overtake someone" then yes, I'd wonder what the point is. But as the overtaking truck is going past you, you cannot be sure that the other truck has a rear camera. Let's agree that after overtaking a slower truck, the faster driver looking at the mirror to check if the tail is clear from the slower truck's front may be not so easy when trying to come back to the outermost lane (left in the UK). A polite (certainly not Polish) truck driver would want to do that as soon as possible to be respectful to the little beetle drivers, especially if there are only 2 lanes on the road. Of course not all Eastern European drivers care about the cars that share the road (apparently not many from Poland or Romany), but that would be the general common sense in Western Europe. Then the single quick flashing makes it obvious to the faster driver that it's safe clear to come back in. To some drivers, "after overtaking" means to come back to the truck lane. But even if you are considering that "after overtaking" is just winning the race, we are still talking about the same thing, because flashing at that point is an indication that it is now safe to come back in. Just coming in as soon as possible , particularly at night, without the slower driver flashing or having night vision cameras for mirrors would be gambling. I completely agree that having a dozen fog light set going off when flashing at night blinds oncoming traffic, and that is dangerous. That is the absurd thing. Not a normal QUICK main light flashing ( and that is why we call it "flashing" because it is quick) to indicate it is now safe to come back in. It may even help oncoming traffic to stay awake. Opinions differ. Some drivers will not thank with indicators after overtaking one of the road brothers, but that does not make it any more or less safer on the road. It is just about being polite. Politeness is relative, varies from culture to culture's customs and values. I saw another video of yours that you installed a dozen powerful led beams on your van. That is even illegal in some countries because it is considered to be unsafe on the road. Besides being unpolite it is also dangerous. It is meant for off-road use on jeeps. What the hell!

Flashing someone in after they after they overtake is one thing. Getting x rayed from a scania just because you are bragging with your company's vehicle is another thing. Also if you are a professional driver you should know when your trailer has passed the overtaken vehicle

If an EU citizen driver wants to leave the UK this driver will have a surprise when trying to find a job in the EU. The UK CPC card (DQC in EU) is worth nothing in the EU, if one wants to get a job in the continent. Let alone the whole continent holds a grudge in the UK for the whole Brexit move. If you are a driver working in the UK in a permanent job they will not hire you even if you are an EU citizen. You will have to state you are an unemployed (or self-employed) driver in your CV before applying for a job in Belgium or the Netherlands, for example. Then you will need to spend t least 140 hours worth of training and £700 to get an EU DQC. The driver license can still be exchanged, though.

Did fancy EU work (I follow a few You tubers ) but seeing all the border paperwork ( and long waits ) I decided it's UK only. I've driven in a car around most of europe and france appears to have least traffic and italy the worst drivers. Switzerland the most polite and germany the fastest . Just my observations . Thanks for the upload.

I guess the only chance a British driver has to get hired in the continent is to get a job at a British Transport company with an office based in the continent.
