Indeed. Im asking myself what the weight regulations are in New Zealand if they need that many axles. Those lorries aint long but surely they are heavy as hell.

58 tonnes.... Usually Cummins isx....580hp....c15 cat same again 550ish.... or Detroit diesel dd15 or series 60.... Great torque output 2000lb,ft... So not like euro trucks with 400 to....except v8 Scania or f16 volvo

Overpowered because they can climb a hill quickly and efficiently? You cant really compare trucking in NZ to the UK and Holland like that. For one, NZ is a very mountainous country; in the UK you have motorways everywhere which have very slight inclines on them, and in Holland no hills at all! NZ has very few motorways, most of the roading network is winding and often steep two lane roads. Thats part of the reason why for the amount of weight the trucks carry (up to around 55 tonne gvw) they have so many axles; less wear on the roads, and because of the very strict weight limits per axle (up to 7.2t for single tyred axle, up to 15t for a twin set of axles).
