Well he stands as a great comparison. Trump faced investigations over a scandal of Russian involvement, and FBI interference, for which was not found to be criminal. Under US laws, Trudeau on the other hand, would be awaiting the judge's sentence for how many years he would be spending in prison.

They spent $40 million funding Gaddafi while he fought his own civilians in a civil war, so that they could defraud $130 million from companies there. And now they are facing charges in the Supreme Court for it. Trudeau asked the Attorney General to intervene and dismiss charges in favour of a "Deferred Prosecution Agreement", a policy to dismiss charges for a fine that Trudeau snuck into legislation just prior to SNC's court case....and when the AG refused to step in, he canned her and replaced her with someone who would. Then it leaked to the press, and he pulled the Clinton "I did not have sexual relations with that woman" stunt in denying it...over and over....until it came out that he did....in which he changed tune to, oh, I didn't know she had made up her mind....until that too came out he did....to which he changed it to, okay, I knew she made up her mind, but her decision wasn't final. All the left wingers that were looking at Trudeau with praise need to re-evaluate their morality and ethical values. Trudeau has never been a good person.

This committee is made up a majority Liberal members (trudeau's members), who vote down any attempt to have witnesses testify under oath, bring evidence, or allow the former AG to answer questions. This scandal has shown that our government undeniably over-reached it's authority in trying to control the judicial system, and is working insanely hard to prevent any legal action being taken against it. Canadians are not loyal to their leader's though... We often vote across party lines, and just want the best person for the job in place. We don't make our politician's into royalty and don't have rabid bases pushing them along. If ANY of our politician's get of line, we get rid of them and move on. America could learn something from us.
I wonder if not having to vote directly for a Prime Minister has something to do with it. I generally vote for one party but have voted for other parties a number of times depending on the situation. Blind loyalty to one person or leader is disturbing.

We are also keenly aware that there is an election this fall, where it will be sorted out. Our leader's always shift right to left and back, by the same voters. No, Trudeau demoted the Attorney General to Minister of Veterans' Affairs, then when the scandal broke he claimed her continued presence in cabinet spoke for itself. She resigned the next day.

In Canada, governments have fallen over things like expensive military budgets and healthcare privatization - just a Tuesday in the US.
