this has to be one of the best vlogs I've seen up to this point. It's crazy what even a relatively small channel like mine does to my weird mind. I think it's actually not that easy to keep all things fun although this is how RU-vid's supposed to be I guess. It all works well as long as one doesn't think too much about it. I absolutely enjoyed listening to your story telling us what it really is like to run a big and successful channel. Thanks for sharing! By the way I'm too young to give proper advice but one thing I can tell you for sure. Getting separated is the right thing to do, especially for your kid. My parents failed to get divorced over a long time and my brother and myself had to suffer from their constant quarreling for many years as kids and teenagers. I always thought I didn't care much and it didn't affect me at all. But now since I'm getting older I slowly start to realize how my parents and their constant arguments fucked with my head rather badly. Don't do this to your kid!

I'm really sorry to hear it dude - I was in a dark place a couple of years ago when my Mrs and I split. It's the reason I started vlogging and I genuinely believe that it saved my life. My son was stuck in the middle too, and he's only 4 years old but I see him every weekend and we have lots of fun together. It's not easy fella and it's horrendous to go through but believe me it really does get better. It's cliche as fuck, but I literally just went through this and I'm always happy to talk. Chin up bud.

I advise you to do whatever you want to do, don't worry about the people who want more Track videos or people who want more Vlogs, The people that watch every video you make are here because YOU are in it. I have not talked about it too much but I have had problems with depression for a long time on and off quite badly in my early days of vlogging in fact but people probs didn't know as just being on the bike brought the real me out that's where I got my smiles. Been down the NHS and medication route didn't work what has really helped me is a change of mind set and approach to life and it sounds like you are making that change a change only you can make. That was fantastic Baron, one of the best videos I've seen. A lot of people will tell you this but you do get over divorce, it becomes just something that you did. Keep doing the videos and maybe a world trip is the order of the day. Oh and don't be afraid to talk about the depression, more people need to.

Interesting vlog Baron. It's interesting the number of vloggers that open up and say they have depression. I've been dealing with it on and off for the past 8 years. I've had the same experience as you, negative reactions etc. I also struggle with social cues etc, aspergers related stuff. It's interesting to think there may be some connection between the desire to speak anonymously on video (Vlogging) and your situation. I see a lot of vloggers in your situation. I hope things improve for you and that this video helps you feel a bit better! Talking helps, a lot. I found that recently.

Going through something similar right now and taking a break from vlogging. Listening to your thoughts on depression and anxiety were very helpful because it's exactly what I've come to think. I watched this video when it was first released a couple years ago, and have kept up with your stuff since then - from the outside looking in, it appears that you're very happy, and I hope that holds true internal to you. I hope you never regret this upload; it has been your most important, and will have touched many and helped others. You are right: at least 20% of watchers will, at some point, have similar problems to those you describe. I came through it. There are mechanisms for dealing with depression. I think one should never give up (easier to say once you've come out from below the weight of the disease). I wish you, your wife and son all the best buddy.

Fair play to you for talking so openly about depression. The more people in the public domain do this, the better. It's far far more common than people realise. It's just a lot of people suffer in silence because they don't want to be seen as 'mad' or a 'psycho'. These tags are outdated and need to be ditched, and depression needs to be out in the open and talked about more.

I went through this too for much the same reasons, but it was an easy split. We both wanted our son to be raised in a happy home whether that be in one home or two. We knew we were not working, and were tired of fighting it after a year. Its rough man, but we are both much better off now. We get on quite well now too. Wish you the best man! You are living my dream! You are proof that a motovlogger can make it out into something bigger! I would love to get picked up somewhere down the line by a publication company writing about bikes.

I find your honestly extremely admirable Baron. It takes a lot to bare that part of your soul to the world. I know most people don't know who you are, so what does it matter...but it matters to you. It's never easy to speak about ones short-comings so openly, so I applaud you for having the courage to do so. Everyone's life always looks better from the outside, and I'm pretty sure thats how others have viewed yours. But nobody ever gets to see behind the curtain...so now they know that your life is probably just as difficult as theirs. And that goes for all of us vloggers...we're all just normal people after all. I don't want to make this a pity party (although I am sad that you're going through this) because in the end I'm sure the decisions you make are ultimately going to make you a happier person. Since you said you want to travel more, if you decide to come to the US you definitely have a place to crash with me in either Miami or New York (depending on where I'm living at the moment). And I'm pretty sure that I can speak for most of the motovloggers here, but I'm pretty certain that most of them would be willing to put you up in their homes so you can travel around. I hope everything works out for you in the end mate.

I completely agree with the cancer gets sympathy thing. I have arthritis, I'm only 33 ffs. I'm loosing my job because I can't keep up physically, I can't go to the gym which was my way to relax before. I can't hold my 9 month old son for very long or walk up stairs with him. It's causing tension with my wife too. I feel I've got depression because of all this and no one seems to understand my life is falling apart. There has to be a way to give people the help they need in this kind of situation.

I was always such a super strong woman then 2yrs ago I was diagnosed with servere depression & put on medication. I've had no support from family, friends or the doctors, like you say this disease seems to brand you a freak. However I no that the strong girl is in there somewhere & I've found reason to live by a few good books, riding my, motorbike & believe or not through being inspired by strong people who have a zest for life, the ability to carry on regardless and be themselves. Your one of those people Baron. I never miss your videos and sometimes I watch certain ones over again cos they make me laugh & smile & give me a wilful boost to get off my ass when im down. My fave one being when you laugh at your mate when he comes off his dirt bike!! If you need to go round the world to find out how wonderful, special & unique you are then do it. Thanks for sharing this. It's very personal and although I have no right to know these things about you I utterly respect and appreciate your honesty about your situation. I think making and sharing this video took some real courage. The truth can be difficult but it also sets you free. You suffer from depression and that's nothing to be ashamed of, in fact I prefer friends and colleagues to tell me if they have such a condition. Many entertainers are depressives, the "crying clown" is a well known paradox. Myself and others enjoy your videos so yes, I do think of you as an entertainer and it sounds as though you therefore fit that unfortunate paradox. As for borderline Asperger's, well I think we all have that! I hope things work out well for you and for the people you care about. Stay safe out there.

Talking is the best. My depression started with a form of amnesia and had to relearn who my wife and kids were. I had thoughts of doing what you are but my wife and I made the decision to work at it and she was what I needed. Some one to hold me up and pick me up when I fell down. It was probably the harder way to do it. That was what worked for us. I'm glad you said what you did! Think of this. Making depression a stance! Get the quotes / statistics and share them every ware you can. Scream it from the roof tops. Help your self by helping others. I have no idea about motorcycles, don't have a license, and have never driven one, but you have entertained me immensely over the past year or so. Such a ton of info in this video, people indeed don't see what goes on inside the helmet. i feel for you man. I'm 18 and live in the U.S. and my parents separated when i was 15. At the time I felt lost, but over time I came to accept that my parents hadn't been happy in a long time. I feel like your a good dad, and your boy may seem upset now, but overtime he'll come to appreciate what you two have both done to make this situation a little easier for him. Try and do your best to stay positive bro. Things could ALWAYS be worse. Take for instance, my ex. If they made a movie about what happened to me, everyone would say it was far fetched and nobody would believe it. I never knew evil existed till we ended things. So trust me, it's a GREAT thing that it's a mutual decision between you and your wife, and great that you can still talk good about her. One thing to realize is that almost EVERYBODY around our age has a "story". Try your best to keep everything as amicable as possible, for your son's sake. All parties involved will be MUCH better off in the end, and before you know it, you'll be back on your feet in no time. Good luck bro.

I think a lot more of us than we think have to deal with illnesses and issues in our own personal way. Like Baron said, the problem is we all individually cover it up, and there is a certain stigma associated with airing our feelings about these issues. It's not good. Because when someone reaches a stage in their life where they feel depressed and/or trapped, they feel like they are the only one, and in truth so many others deal with similar things in their own way. ANYONE can have these problems from ANY walk of life/upbringing. A problem shared is a problem halved. Thanks for sharing, Baron.

What a truly great video! I admire you for actually putting your son first rather than just saying it(!) and must say it was great to hear you talk about your depression, you are so right more needs to be done. I'm nearly 22 and I've suffered from depression since I was 7 (not that I knew it was depression at the time) and even though I realised what I was suffering from in my early teens, it's only been in the last couple of months that I've actually been able to tell people and talk to people about it and that is due to nothing but stigma. Depression is not seen as an illness but instead is seen as a weakness.

I was listening to your video thinking that I can relate to some of these things, and then you mentioned that you may have Aspergers. I have Aspergers, and I sometimes experience pretty major waves of depression and doubt but very rarely tell anyone about it because of the anxiety and I worry that people will see me as this weird nut job. I admire you hugely for putting up this video, for having the guts to tell thousands of people the truth, especially in the wake of separation. You have your head screwed on straight and you know what you're doing. You'll be home and dry in no time :)

Totaly understand the depression side of life. I'm struggling with it myself. Mate to do all you do in this state is great and only shows you don't want to give up. Trip sounds like a great idea! (Sorry I was commenting as I watching the video without waiting until the end). Im so glad you said what you said about the depression. It's totally unacceptable of how is been perceived. You've got bald of steel to come up with it in front of people and hopefully this will trigger some changes...

I think a big outrageous trip would be an another awesome experience for you and really get things off your mind and get your mind in the right place. It would also be awesome for us viewers as we love everything you upload. Keep it up mate!

Thanks for doing this video Baron, hope your life gets better after this. I can kind of relate to this but I've not been diagnosed with depression or anything, but what you said about how your brain works is sort of like me as well. I hope you can still enjoy vlogging, especially now that you're "going back to basics" with this channel. This was the first biking channel I got into and now I'm seriously thinking about starting biking lessons, so I have you to thank for that. And I'm sure you've touched so many other peoples' lives with this channel too.

just found this channel about 3 weeks ago and i dont ride a bike but these videos have really made me want to do the CBT and then the full license, highly enjoyed every video I do hope you manage to keep them going and i'm very sorry to hear about your situation, fingers crossed everything works out for you mate , im 27 and have had to deal with depression and anxiety since i was about 14 so I know where you are coming from the stigma can be disheartening but the best thing is to surround yourself with friends that dont see you as a mental illness and see you as the friend they have always had. good luck
