Yup I remember NFS and midnight club looking amazing same for grand turismo ... went back and played on emu even upscaled the resolution and still looks rough lol.
The soundtrack, the fighting, a good story with consequences depending on your actions. This game is a classic and will always have a special place in my heart
mine was the other way around i was gta but not true crime they didn't want me to play a game with a bad title so when they asked me what gta meant i said give to animals i couldn't have them take away my san Andreas
I swear gta has gone backwards why can't we have fighting moves like the jumping monkey this game required fighting mechanics some bosses are hard without having new moves to throw them around
Wow the memories of this game, nostalgia at its strongest =D Back when games actually made you feel immersed in the atmosphere (like you were a real cop). Now all they concentrate on is graphics and micro transactions, sad really.
at the time when the game was released. I thought wow the graphics are so realistic! now looking back, the graphics look pretty bad. it's funny because when GTA5 came out I said the same.
Beginning of the game 1. Drives recklessly and collides several times causing thousands of dollars in property damage. 2. Stops and frisks every brown person without reasonable cause. 3. Commits first degree murder on the fugitive and his two associates, by firing upon them and running them over. Gets a "Good Cop" rating. LOL.
When I was 9 years old, I thought this was the most mind blowing video game ever made. The shooting was like Max Payne 2.0 to me and the fighting mechanics were absolutely sick. Especially since I was craving a Grand Theft Auto styled game at the time and I only had a GameCube. I cannot tell you how much fun I had with Streets of LA. By far, one of the most fun open world games I ever played.
This game had amazing graphics and very cinematic scenes back in it's time. And was hilarious as hell. I used to piss my pants laughing when I was a kid. They really took their time making this game awesome. I wish it had a sequel :/
I just love the idea. When dealing with a dangerous gang, don't assign a cop that follows the rules. Assign a loose cannon cop that breaks every rule in the book.
It breaks my heart Luxoflux shut down and we never got a 3rd installment, but apparently there was supposed to be a 3rd installment but I think it got scrapped or remodeled to be “Sleeping Dogs” (which was fun in my opinion but not as good as the true crime series) the only thing we CAN hope for at this point is a remaster of one, if not both games
This game brings back so many good memories. I remember always having to start over from the beginning until I got a memory card. Thanks for uploading it.
This was actually a really good game back when it was first out (and still is), it took a fresh approach to gun fighting, martial arts, and the satisfaction of leveling up your skills and gear. Sure it had its rough edges, but it was ps2/xbox gen after all and the grid map of LA was just plain fucking impressive. Not to mention an epic soundtrack and driving sequences, with a pretty engaging detective based story with excellent voice over acting with a cinematic driven story.
+The Codfather Christopher Walken is the guy doing the voice over starting at 1:19 He's a pretty cool dude if you ask me.. he's an actor been in loads of movies
I loved how the game changed depending on whether you were good or bad during missions I remember being bad whilst a kid which gets you killed quickly so replayed it years later properly and didnt realise half of the stuff you get from progression was even in the game
Tidgy :) in that case i still have the dvd of this game but dont have the time to start over again (but will try it again someday) also it reminds me not only the game but the time when i used to play this game my childhood and lots of other fun times during that summer thats all :)
How is it that old games look so good in my head? I am always shocked at how much worse they look than I remember. Makes me wonder, will I be looking back on Red Dead Redemption 2 in 10 years time thinking 'how did I think THAT looked good!?'
@@stephenwalker8789 I feel like New York should've been a bit more extended! True Crime LA had to many alternate endings. You can pretty much tell that game took some time to made!
I remember we had this game those were the days my older brother would be playing it on Playstation 2 back then if you ever failed a mission you can skip or try again I would be taking a nap that time and sometimes I would hear my brother playing True Crime: Streets of LA bring back memories.
I grew up playing the Gamecube and this is the closest game I could play to get that GTA experience. While everyone has San Andreas/Vice City memories I have True Crime memories.
So can people not read now? I said graphics ALONE, True Crime is better than San Andreas. Nothing was said about gameplay, just graphics. Learn to read guys.
Tigran Avagian I'm the kid yet you need to resort to name calling and escalating a simple question to an argument. Also your grammar says a lot about you. Either you're very young or you haven't learned a damn thing in school and you have the mental capability of a 5th grader.
woow brings back memories, and i was born in freaking 1998, when i was about 6 my brother let me play this, but it was in english...... i speak spanish so i count understand a word now that i know english this game just keeps getting better and better
Btw. Am I right but I think that this game was the first recreation of a real existing city? As far as i remember It recreated central LA in 1:1 ratio.
