Awesome man I have the same exact setup to the T on my 09 silverado it’s a fun setup there not stupid loud like complete straights but same time there pretty friken loud. There compareable to older trucks with no cats and only glasspacks lolThese newer trucks are louder than the old trucks with cats still. only difference is I have smaller tips 3.5 inch. Can barely tell sounds like mine if anything yours is alittle deeper and mine is higher pitched due to the tip size. Sounds awesome!
Exact same exhaust I had on my 99, except I bent them to 90s behind tires no tips. Imo the best sounding exhaust for a 5.3 is runnin 2 1/2" pipe from the cats to right where the bed starts, then switch to 3" out the back and 90 behind tires, no tips. Raps, claps, and echos like no other exhaust I've heard, and I've tried every different combo of pipe sizes lengths and all.
Praise god Brother!!!! I got an identical setup on a 2500 hd 6.0 sounds amazing, had a flow master that was terrible this is by far the best sounding exaughst on a Silverado, so simple to, straight pipe from cats back, 6” tips 🤙🤙🤙
That’s crazy sounds like they just didn’t want to do it lol and no didn’t get a tune done if anything would be better for the truck so it could breathe better more flow
I’m running a 7.5 rough country with a 1.5 level and forged upper control arms and 37s on 22x14s still rubs like crazy need to go back to a 35 and want 26x14s chrome 😀
What about the stock exhaust just straight piped ?? I got a 2015 5.3 an want it to sound good but right now just got a 40 series on it not loud enuff. How much it cause you ??
Very good sound I plan to do this on a well used 2002 gmc sierra 1500 4.3 V6 vortec 403000 miles to help the old girl out I've got rid of the vortec box and installed a K&N air filter for good measure and put a edelbrock breather in place of the oil fill cap also I run a 350 chevy oil filter instead of the v6 oil filter a 5qts of oil instead of 4.5 qts peace and much respect to you Jason
Why does everyone from the south thinks this sounds good not to mention running to duals decreases horsepower and torque at least throw a super 10 y-pipe on there
I still cant believe that some people think that back pressure or reduced flow somehow gains power. more air and fuel in plus more of that burned mixture flowing out the exhaust equals quicker moving and more powerful. I know that there are situations where you may want some type of back pressure and I am not getting into turbo's or anything of the sort but at least when it comes to old school push rod v8 vehicles like this one the shit your saying makes me ask myself why some people arent able to grasp that its the same thing as an air pump. Move more = more power.
Your correct but will make check engine light come on and will have no back pressure and run like crap also a lot higher chance of the good ole blue lights giving u a ticket
@@lakeliferonnie I've had cat delete for a year now without a check engine light. Just gotta tune the truck which you need to do anyways for a DOD delete.
Lost all your low end torque ... these engines thrive off back pressure at low rpms, GM designed these engine with the muffler to perform at it's highest capacity, people who say back pressure is a myth well there wrong, engines need to scavenge air through the exhaust , to much air will throw off the timing of the valves, expect poor gas mileage and performance.😂
