True Power - Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Season 3, Ep. 15 

I am more impressed by Brett Dalton with every change they make to his character. From the "boy scout" hero of S1 to the borderline psychotic Hydra agent to the quietly menacing undead Inhuman would-be dictator.

I love how Hive right off the bat once up to full strength is knocking Mallick off balance by making it clear that Hive himself had nothing to do with all of this prophetic fanatical stuff written and taught since he was exiled. Despite the fact that he is remarkable, he's down to earth and views it as odd that Mallick has such reverence for him. And he's calling bullshit on half of what he says because Mallick's brother Nathaniel is a part of him.

I like to imagine that Hive/Ward spent several hours looking at various suits, jackets and cloaks and deciding each one wasn't right before finally hiring some fashion designer but for villains to basically tailor him the perfect suit to fit his needs. I mean I'm glad that the alien ocotopus god zombie mutant thing that's been living in isolation for a thousand years took the time to study what current human trends consider to be 'cool' clothes.

The way Ward/Hive walked in, slow motion, that music makes me smile and it's just an amazing "I'm back" entrance

Hive (Ward) came in looking like Neo 😂

His entrance was so badass..especially with slowmo

It is a mark of a truly great actor when they can portray a character possessing another and make both characters truly distinct from one another. Lincoln put it best. Hive may look like Grant Ward but he is most definitely not Grant Ward. The two men could not possibly be more different and Brett portrays that flawlessly

Anyone else get the TAHITI reference? The one doctor who helped with Coulson's revival later told him that "Fury moved heaven and earth", and Malick just said to bring him back he didn't exactly move heaven and earth.

Hive no longer looks like an extra from Dawn of the Dead... now he looks like an extra from the Matrix

Can't believe Ward was only in it for 2 and half seasons and then half as not ward, so like 3 out of 7 and yet i feel like he was on it for ages.

What I love about this scene is how Hive picks apart the old cliche villain motive of "taking over the world" to make it sound anticlimactic. This shows that Malick and Hydra didn't really think through what they thought was going to happen after they brought Hive back.

Dalton is doing an amazing job.

Powers Boothe was a wonderful actor. I always have and always will enjoy his role as Gideon Malick on Marvel's The Avengers and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Rest in Peace.

Brett Dalton is really doing a great job! He sounds so different than what Ward sounded like, a lot of different choices in what words and sounds he stresses.

Ward Hive was one of the best villains in the whole MCU. Just how he gets into people's minds (especially that Hive/Jenna scene), was crazy.

I'm really hoping that Hive screws over Malick in the most soul crushing way possible. Let the jerk have everything he and his family worked for over the years be completely torn down by the very "god" they spent centuries trying to rescue. Bonus points if Coulson is there to witness it. Karmic retribution at it's finest. 😈

My Theory on Hive's Motives: To me, Hive is disgusted with Hydra but nonetheless is grateful to them for providing him with human hosts to live long enough for the organization to bring him back to Earth. Hive lived a normal life as a leader on Maveth without the need of using his deadly powers. However, the violence and wars on Maveth destroyed the planet which traumatized Hive in the process. When Hive watched videos of Earth's wars and acts of violence, Hive is upset and started his Inhuman Hive campaign to force humanity to stop their acts of violence and live in peace under his influence. Hive just wants to live a life of peace as he abandoned his quest for conquering when he lived on Maveth. Hive is like Wenwu in a way.
