In the short list of K-1 champions, Mark Hunt is the rare one to jump into the ring straight out of a night club and conquer the World Grand Prix. Today, we recall Hunt's triumphant K-1 journey, one that made him that very Super Samoan: the king of walk-off knockouts.

Mark Hunt appears to be an honest, humble, and happy man. He shows no false ego, avoids boasting, and refrains from belittling his opponents, even giving them credit.

people dont understand how Samoans have the hardest chins ever. Look at David Tua, Mark Hunt and Max Halloway... all have historically stout chins... David Tua literally ate right hands from Lennox Lewis for 12 rds and didn't even blink... Max Halloway has never been hurt in his decade plus of fighting in the UFC, and doesnt even have a single official knockdown, though Gaethje did drop him with a flash knockdown that wasnt counted.
@ampinghard111
@ampinghard111 23 дня назад
@@user-vc6 before Hunt and David Tua got old, they literally ate anything that was every thrown at them... those samoan genetics produce the best chins on the planet... Tua ate punches from a Lennox Lewis that was almost a foot taller and 30 lbs heavier, and didnt even blink.... Lennox Lewis said nobody ever made him feel like his punches weren't doing anything the way David Tua did... not to mention Max Halloway is the only fighter in the UFC to go over a decade without even being knocked down officially, let alone KOd or stopped.

So, now being 46 yrs old, i remember a time where the internet wasn't really available yet, and the on TV stations here in the Netherlands, there were only about 12 channels airing at that time. But, experimental and sometimes pirated broadcasts would appear instead of some of the usual teletext crap late at night... Think i was about 13 yrs old, my parents were sleeping and i had sneaked down to watch TV, and see some of the more exciting stuff. I was lucky enough to catch that fight with Mark Hunt and Ray Sefo live, and i didn't have to understand the Japanese commentary to see what the hell was going on 🤣 I told some friends and they thought i was tripping, but i'll never forget that epic battle! His Ray Sefo fight will always be one of the craziest things I've ever seen in combat sports. It's like if the Max Holloway v. @@monkeyboy275bobo8 Exactly. Claiming this Hunt bloke is the hardest puncher in history is laughable, and even Ngannou is a bit of a stretch. The only way to really know, would be to measure every heavyweight boxer for their punching power, on the same day, on the same machine. Heavyweight boxers are always going to hit harder than kickboxers, it's all they train to do. Wilder I'm sure hits harder than Ngannou, and maybe other heavyweights hit even harder.

I have to say, after all of these years, Mark Hunt is/was one of the most natural fighters.. Add to that the cardio he had / has.. It's nuts.. But, again, he really had no legit training through most of his earlier years... Total freak of nature.. This video left out so many of his MMA fights, but its okay.. He'll always have my respect.. Wonder how things would have gone if he were trained from an earlier age.. Good video.. Thanks

Insanely fast , insanely for his weight . Greatest chin in history, one of the greatest punch , and i love the guy. Always gives it all, always humble, nice . But a murder machine…Tell you

Mark Hunt vs Sefo was like the reunion of two brothers separated at birth by the end. Both grinning like schoolboys swinging at each other.

I loved Mark Hunt in the UFC. He seemed like a very laid-back guy who just happened to punch the shit out of people for a living. The amount of punishment he could and did absorb was ridiculous, and his power was amazing. The thing I respected the most about him is how he never dove onto an opponent once he laid him out and started hammerfisting until the ref pulled him off. He knew when he'd laid someone out before the referee did and didn't take any gratuitous extra shots. That's really rare in MMA. I hope he has a long and happy retirement, though with the sheer amount of blows he got hit with, I'm worried he'll end up like so many combat sports athletes, crippled by CTE and similar things.
