I like that in this video of demonstrating sloppy-but-common French phrasing, that you also use sloppy-but-common English (for example you say, "gunna" rather than "going to" (0:42)).

I love that too. I’ve always wondered what the French equivalent of those kinds of English tics. An intelligent English speaker often uses them, in casual speech or even for humor, but what would be the French equivalent of “gonna”, or “kinda”, that she used also? I might say “ I ain’t gonna do that” to be funny or for emphasis, knowing full well it is both grammatically wrong and sloppy. What would be the French equivalent?

@@phillycatlady my guess for English equivalents to "ain't" is to check yt videos of Quebec slang. I was told that one reason speakers of "continental French" disparage Quebecoise French is that the continental French has changed ("evolved" in my friends words) while Quebecoise French has remained quite insulated from the rest of the French speaking world. Of course I can't determine the veracity, but I still watch those quebecoise based videos before I travel for bike trips and ski trips into Quebec.

My mother came to England in 1951 and when I was little in the late 60's she spoke many words in french to me. I noticed she would say 'un petite peu' as 'um ti peu' or thats what it sounded like to me. English people would say un peit peu with strong accent pronouncing all the vowels. I already picked up on the difference.

I really love that you explain the context of use for each term thoroughly and even demonstrate how not to say something harshly (the "bah" example). I'm not sure if any other channel does this. So, thank you for being thorough!

Merci. Personellement je trouverais ces videos plus utile s'il y avait plus de francais et moins d'anglais. C'est mieux pour apprendre la langue je trouve. C'est toujours possible d'ajouter des sous-titres optionnel pour des gens qui a besoin s'ils trouvaient qu'il y a "trop" de francais.

Merci pour cette vidéo ! IMHO (ah! comme l'anglais peut être poli... en apparence), à mon avis relativement humble donc, un "tic" de language ne décrit pas ce que tu présentes ici. "baaah chais pas", contraction de "eh bien je ne sais pas" n'est pas un tic. Un tic c'est par exemple le placement répétitif du mot "genre". "Je lui ai dit genre tu veux pas venir genre vers 18h? - Y m'a répondu genre en allumant sa clope, genre cool, bah... chais pas". Le "bah chais pas" ou autres modifications phonétiques est dû à la vitesse de vocalisation. On n'entendra pas un Français dire "eh-bien-je-ne-sais-pas" avec un débit rapide. À mesure que le débit s'accélère on passe de «Je ne sais pas» à «je n'sais pas» puis «ch'sais pas» et «chais pas» voire même «ch'pas». Ça s'appelle une assimilation. Merci beaucoup pour les explications. De fait, je me le suis rendu compte dans beaucoup de situations. Quand même, je ne suis pas encore arrivé à être à l'aise en parlant de la même façon. J'imagine il me faut vivre un temps dans un pays francophone ou être plus exposé à la langue d'une autre façon pour y arriver. Je suis allemand et vis en Espagne et , bien, j'ai appris á parler plus ou moins comme eux avec les même "tics". Néanmoins, je ne sais pas si je serais y arrivé si je vivais hors d'un pays hispanoparlant ou pas de la même façon (du coup?)

Merci a toi d'avoir pris le temps de la regarder :) cette vidéo avant toute chose là pour vous aider à mieux comprendre le français parlé. Quand tu entends ces tics plusieurs fois et que tu comprends ce qu'ils veulent dire, alors là petit à petit, tu risques de les adopter et d'en utiliser certains. Mais ça vient avec le temps. Tant que tu les comprends, c'est l'essentiel.

Il peut être intéressant de comprendre ce niveau relâché de la langue... certainement pas de l'imiter, cela vous cataloguera immédiatement! Il est toujours choquant pour des Français d'entendre des étrangers, croyant bien faire, parler de façon extrêmement familière, voire argotique et cela dans des contextes qui peuvent être assez formels. Cela crée un décalage dont les personnes étrangères n'ont pas forcément conscience.😅

Can someone help me with a word I keep hearing, but can't find in a dictionary please? I think it's a filler word and it sounds like 'auh-toh-cah' ('auh' like the start of 'ordinateur', 'toh' like the end of 'manteau', and 'cah' like the start of 'quatre'. I keep hearing it in podcasts/the radio, but I cannot find it anywhere online!

En cours de prise de parole en public - parole - nous apprenons à éviter complètement les bruits de « remplissage ». Donc, il faut reconnaître que bah, euh, heinn, ce ne sont PAS des mots. Mais on ne peut JAMAIS recommander de les UTILISER. C'est un Canadien universel, hein?, en fait partie.

ON is the same nasal vowels as you would hear in "onze" (11) whereas AN is the same as "quarante" (40). When your mother tongue does not have nasal vowels, they are very difficult to spot at first, it's absolutely understandable. I've created a video about nasal vowels last year, feel free to check it. I'm sure it will help ;-)

Oh, bonne question ! En français, la phrase type a un sujet au verbe conjugué, même quand c'est un pronom. Ce n'est pas comme en espagnol, par exemple. En plus, le verbe "sais" donc avec les pronoms "je" et "tu" se prononce de la meme façon que "sait" aussi, avec les pronoms il, elle et on. Du coup, sans le pronom, on ne sait pas QUI ne sait pas.

Alors, c'est pas ce que je dis D'abord j'explique ce qu'est une contraction en français. Et le meilleur exemple est "je + ai = j'ai" puis j'explique que les français (dont moi, évidemment) on les utilises beaucoup et dans d'autres cas que le cas grammaticalement correct de "j'ai".

Ça c'est si on souhaite parler un mauvais français. Même en contractant les règles demeures. Une négation c'est "ne ... pas". "Je ne veux pas" peux devenir "je n'veux pas" et c'est prévue par la langue français, mais "j'veux pas"... non ce n'est pas français, quand à "chui"... ok un ado attardé, mais pas un adulte ! Même en parlant très vite, la diction peu rester parfaite et non comme une poissonnière. Il faut arrêter de faire croire et diffuser ce style de connerie.

Et le français n'a pas évolué depuis Molière c'est ça ? 🤣🤣🤣 Après, si vous NE (monseigneur) communiquez avec personne, évidemment vous ne voyez pas les évolutions de la langue. Du coup, laissez mes étudiants apprendre le français qui leur servira vraiment à comprendre les gens quand ils viendront en France et on vous laisse dans vos idéaux de vieille France qui n'existe plus 😘 PS : Les règles "demeurent", choupi ! Mes étudiants le savent ça, parce qu'ils connaissent les règles qui s'appliquent pour de vrai 😉

@@cassyparlefrancais lol la langue évolue, oui c'est sur que wesh whalla ziva go chouf c'est plus du niveau. Pour votre information, pas tant que cela non. À l'exception de la grosse réforme faite pour emmerder les anglais, le français est resté assez stable. Certain se demande pourquoi la france devient un cloître à merde et perd chaque jour un peu plus de ce qu'elle était. Peut-être un début de réponse avec votre vidéo et le niveau de la réponse 🤣🤣

@@BrainStroming1789 Alors, déjà votre réponse est ignorante en plus d'être de mauvaise foi. Le français a beaucoup évolué. Je pense que la réforme à laquelle vous faites référence est une réforme de l'orthographe. Mais ce n'est pas ça qui montre l'évolution d'une langue. Par contre, commencez par respecter cette réforme pour qu'on vous prenne au sérieux. Bref, laissez les gens apprendre tranquillement et dans la positivité pour pouvoir communiquer avec les autres plutôt que de rester dans votre bulle de déni. En vrai, je pense que vous n'allez pas bien dans votre vie pour dire des choses comme ça et du coup, je suis triste pour vous.

Apprendre à communiquer correctement ne signifie pas qu'on souhaite empêcher les autres de communiquer, bien au contraire. Parler avec une belle articulation sans manger 50 % d'une phrase juste pour coller à la déliquescence galopante n'est pas négatif. Il y a ceux qui tirent les gens vers le bas et ceux qui souhaitent tirer vers le haut. Sur ce point, nous sommes d'accord, je vous laisse à la facilité (vers le bas). Après tout, vos "étudiants" devraient être suffisamment lucides pour trouver d'autres enseignants RU-vid désireux de tirer vers le haut.

Why are you upset she answered if you commented on HER video 🤣 This might not be helpful for you but it’s helpful for others (including me), don’t bash on other people’s content (that yes, you get for free and it’s a good deed for us French students) It just shows how self centered and ignorant you can be😴😴

No, the sound effects are too loud in relation to the sound of her voice and they add absolutely nothing of value. If you don’t find them too bad perhaps you are going deaf from listening to too many poorly edited videos on RU-vid.

Thank you @malufreedom And thank you too @blerrnk. I usually take feedback quite well, as I'm just at the beginning of my RU-vid journey and there is always room for improvement. But her original comment was just not respectful, not even polite so why bother (and when I see how she answered to you both, that confirms what I thought). But you guys warm my heart 🙏 I'm really glad you liked the video and I hope you found it useful.
