Those are great looking boots. I’ve become a super fan of Truman boots by watching your videos, I’ve purchased like 5 pairs. When are these releasing?

I love truman selection of leather but I've heard they have defects on the leather along the welt. check video section 6:26 front left of boot , 6:31 - 6:32 rightside of boot above welt , it looks like the leather was cut right above the welt all around the boot

It looks like the natural scarring in the deer. You get the same look in kudu and rambler.

Love the deer skin and gray color ; the cuts above welt put much stress on the skin , being how deer skin stretch ; may have happened removing protective wrap after midsole or sole work

I just got my Truman Olive Teton Stag boots with cap toe on the black Eugene sole. When I saw these MTO in the olive I had to get them. I like the grey but I’m loving the olive color. 😍

i didnt see this make up available at Truman.

That’s because they’re likely an MTO. And sometime last year Truman changed to only offer MTO to an exclusive list of customers…I’m guessing customers that have bought a lot of pairs of Truman’s or customers that are VIP in the boot world like RU-vid channel people.

😂Looks like the final product is a bit thinner at 4oz/1.6mm. The color range seems more pronounced on the tan version. The pairs in the website pics look good. Ultimately at over $500 the final product needs to look pretty good out of the box as well. Unlike other PNW makers Truman doesn't allow any returns on MTO boots for any reason. They look good here for sure. We'll see how these turn out when they start hitting regular folks' mailboxes!

Thank you for all your review, I have become a fan because of your introductory to Truman, ps beautiful boot. That stone rambler was my first truman, still my top 1/11 truman. I love the coach but have not pull the trigger. I am intrigued with cognac Teton. How well does the leather form to your foot?

I know a guy. Just retired and liquidated hundreds of boots. He realized with only probably 20+ years left to wear things fit is king. He has downsized his collection to 17 boots no including dress shoes. He kept his favorite Red Wing. Overall he probably wears his Kreosote Boots, Wesco's and bespoke Engineers the most. But there are some people with 500+ boots. Unfortunately it's more about their Instagram rather than the love of boots that Dale has. Each to their own. The downside is a lot of them wake up in a cold sweat of regret eventually. I like that Dale is such an enthusiast. I myself have a scary collection I am trying to downsize. I think at my peak I owned 30-40 including dress shoes closer to 50. Right now I am in my upper 20's.

@@Vultain for me I like my Italian handmade sneakers from Archibald London. I have many of them. I also enjoy dress shoes that are handwelted. I have some boots by Allen Edmonds since 2017 and they hold me down. In the end we have enough to carry us with the ability of re crafting. This just became a very expensive hobby for us lol.

@@DalesLeatherworks The Master Collector who got rid of most of his boots? I can ask him if you like Dale. I think overtime like a lot of things our perspectives change. I know for me. I am more moving into the bespoke and made to measure footwear that costs a pretty penny myself. Where you have both a custom last and a custom upper made. It's not cheap but really I only keep 3-7 boots in my rotation at any given moment. I really stay on top of maintenance. I mean, don't get me wrong. I have taken a journey through sizing, leathers, and all sorts of makes and models. I have figured out what heights I most enjoy. What leather tempers I like, what tanneries, what toe shape, gussets, etc. We learn far more from failure than success. But we can learn a lot from observation. One thing is when enough people tell you something it's more than likely right. I was measured by a bespoke boot builder local who is older and doesn't want shown on social media. He was extremely thorough and he told me I am really only suited for made to measure to get a great or perfect fit. He's not the first to say that. He's maker number five, when enough people tell you something it's best to listen because they are right. He said it's not that I can't get ready to fit to work. But I'll probably always need at least a half a size above brannock, hope the last is right, and then adjust as needed. And at the end of the day, I'd sooner start owning a select few boots I can enjoy the patina process. I'll probably keep some boots I've broken in with 1200-2400+ hours in. But I have a lot of mostly unworn pairs sitting in boxes still. A lot of it was trying to pick up things before they disappeared from companies. It became less about enjoying it and more important to get it before it was too late. At the same time I would give the boot a chance 600+ hours. So I would rarely break something in or wear a new boot except for every six months anyway. So like my friend, my goal is to own less things but own better. I would like to downsize to 10-15 pairs max including dress shoes. This sounds odd but I am happier trimming the collection at this point. If you ever are up for a WhatsApp, Messenger or some other call I'd be happy to talk. I may not have the robust knowledge in some ways Michael does, but I have a lot of on hands experience as well and I've talked with a lot of bespoke boot builders. One thing for sure is we are always learning more about boots. I love your channel and others. Because even if I myself may not be buying a lot more. I still love to learn and spread knowledge or answer questions to those who need it.

Imy starter boot is a Truman and they're really nice. Oxblood color. Truman has so many great leathers but they limit themselves with the same design. 6"... Cap toe, non cap toe. I've seen the uplands which looks interesting but not one has been made lately. So much potential!

Those do look really nice. What is the appeal of leather lined boots? As a man who lives in the southern side of the country, unlined is my go-to preference but many boot manufacturers like leather liners or goretex liners. It only seems to add to the heat. Am I missing something? Either way, really cool!

I have 3 pairs of Truman boots, and I have to say I love the company and the style of the last and the boots' aesthetic overall. Truman is probably my number one favorite brand for all the really interesting leather choices they offer. Rambler has quickly become a favorite leather choice and it seems Truman are the only ones running this leather (I have bought a couple of your rambler kilties and I love them). I hope Truman releases these soon and I can afford them lol 😅

These are very nice. I have two grey Truman boots. 6” 20 last, Commando Sole, 360 Flat Welt in Charcoal Grizzly & 6” 20 Moc Toe, 360 Storm Welt, Black Eugene Sole in Grey Esmonda. Both leathers from Seidel. Grey boots and Green boots go with everything. Cannot beat the Eugene Sole, it is the toughest sole on my opinion.

I just recently purchased the stone ramblers and they are my favorite pair of boots. I do want a pair of Truman's with a plain toe and a 360 degree flat welt. Can't wait until next Christmas...
