As a legal neophyte, I think Trump wouldn’t be delaying his trials by appealing every Judge’s motion if he was detained. He would want a speedy trial. That’s where all these judges may have erred by giving Trump the benefits he has been given, as a former president.

But Bannon, Navarro, trump is not in jail!!! How do we change it??

He won't spend a day in a real prison like Rikers Island. He'll get protective custody and a shank proof vest on at all times. BBQ and furloughs on the weekends

This whole ordeal with Trump and his goons have raised my blood pressure many times ever since I found out that Trump was elected.

There’s someone in my life who I love very much who ran with the wrong crowd when he was growing up, got into selling drugs, and spent most of his twenties locked up as a result, much like countless other black men in this country. He’s since managed to turn his life around completely and is an upstanding citizen in every possible way, as well as being an incredible human being in general, and he even managed to have his criminal record expunged under the laws of the state of Massachusetts where we live. His time in lockup still haunts him. He doesn’t speak of it often, but I know him well enough to know when something triggers those memories. When he does talk about it, he goes between completely numb and voice filled with pain. Even though he did wrong according to the laws of this country, and he admits that with no reservation, he didn’t deserve what he went through. No one like him does. My blood boils watching these white collar criminals, who have done orders of magnitude more harm to the community than my friend ever did, avoid justice. Glenn is right- pretty much any person of color or anyone without money or privilege would immediately be remanded to custody upon sentencing, or upon proof of the danger they pose to the community, no buts about it. It’s only because our system, which is functioning exactly how it was designed to function, sees a “nonviolent” rich white man and rolls out the priority lane that only they get to take advantage of that they aren’t thrown in a cell like common scum. Justice delayed is justice denied, words that couldn’t be more apt for this particular situation.
