I don't think the EWS quota should be removed. If removed EWS even in general will also suffer making entry of rich sections of general category in civil services more likely as they can afford great education and upsc coaching. Although, after watching your stream i do understand EWS is misused either way. If EWS was to be removed. To ensure EQUALITY OF OPPORTUNITY, subsidy or scholarships for coaching or study material should be offered instead. I doubt any govt will do this anytime soon. That's why the EWS quota seems like the only hope.
Audit all upsc selection for last 20 years. The compromised people are easy to control by politicals class , expecially when they are appointed as polling officer. This breaks down the steel frame.
JNU is not a liberal art college!! WHaaaaaaaaaaat!!😱😱 Its a University not a college with whole lot of different academic departments. In fact 20 Schools and Centers coverings Arts, Science/engineering, Economics and everything around them. One of the top national universities very hard to get a seat actually. Ah well of course, we have to bring in the Muslim minority IAS officer in this mess as well. Actually, I’m not too upset with that one. There are so few Muslims to begin with and so under represented that if he used what he could to get in, then that’s not an issue. How many Muslim minorities are not selected, not because they do not have excellent scores and skills, but because they are Muslim. So mentioning the Muslim guy - and I assume he’s the only one out of how many, then it is a disingenuous argument. It is simply to appease the radicalized majority that look - a MUSLIM did it too. See with all due respect meghnad this is the reason I hesitate to subscribe, when u put up a topic/s for discussion in the stream pls stick to it and entail the entire discussion without digressing into something completely unrelated just coz u read a comment or some topic, it reeks of immaturity & puts off people like myself from ur stream, for e.g. the entire trump topic could have been a proper discussion wherein u could've covered not just the incident but also how this would impact not just the elections but also the socio-economic, socio-political, geopolitical,etc ramifications in the current & future for US and the world. Hope u get the message, just IMO
The whole point of these livestreams is to be dynamic with the subject and to digress according to what chat is saying. It's a different format. If this is not your cup of tea, I get it. I'm sure you'll find other youtubers doing the kind of videos you described.
