I’m overwhelmed by how easily politicians throw money around but think $7.50 an hour is a sufficient living wage. I mean millions and millions wasted, but god forbid poor folks go to dentists or eye doctors.

There is another segment Seth Meyers does called "A Monologue," so I was just distinguishing the names of two set-pieces he does. Sorry to hear about the lack of quality education in your area. I was fortunate enough to attend a top-tier private school (Deerfield), graduated from an Ivy (Dartmouth), and am currently pursuing a Ph.D. at a top 10 university (Duke). I genuinely feel for you. I know not everyone has been as fortunate as I have.

It's always a "win" for Republicans whenever they derail any kind of progress for cheap political theater. Now they'll spend the next few years screaming about voter fraud and audits, and everyone will have to keep going through this over and over and over. Of course they were going to do that anyway but this is just another effort to distract the public from actually fixing any real problems that we face. The real question that needs to be answered is why the GOP is even allowed to hold public offices after trying to overthrow the US Constitution on Jan 6.

Fun fact: California might spend "a lot" on recall elections, but it spends way more when it comes to how much tax money it puts into the federal government vs how much it gets back. California does a lot of subsidizing of Republican controlled states in a sense (as they economically get more from federal funds than they put in).

@@richiejohnson Sorry, no timing chain. It has gears and the metallic ones are good but louder and fiber ones hold up to most driving. Old red block B-20 or newer B-21 are really hard to kill….and it is not an interference engine….. so get towed once every 200,000 miles.

Imo, reporters should double down when politicians try to evade questions with bullshit answers. Ask them if they're ok. Question their mental acuity. Explain to them as one would to a little child why their answer has nothing to do with what was asked. I was in Orange County this summer and this guy was saying that there was a good chance of Newsom being recalled because “everyone he knew” was voting yes. I said he should talk to people outside of Orange County every so often.

Democrats in the inner cities 'get off' to forcing new public housing units into surrounding areas and then red-lining them against the will out outlying municipalities. Huh, that's the first time I've seen Governor Newsom actually speak... I like the guy, he's got good vibes. And what he said was sobering and absolutely correct. The GOP is trying to smash Democracy on the ground for the sake of their own power. It's really pathetic, since this rhetoric relies on people being as dumb as possible, and people DO eventually wise up to reality given enough time and exposure to said reality, so this strategy is an incredibly short term dead end.

Newsome, caused a increase in homelessness and crime, built a fucking train to nowhere, completely failed to actually address our forrest fire problem, has no plan to fix our water shortage, his parties regulations are inhibiting home construction raising the cost of housing, Californias population is literally decreasing, companies like Tesla are moving out because of draconian laws, public schools are in the bottom 20% in the Union even though California is one of the richest states. Ya'll literally are sheep getting led to the slaughter. They literally played you into thinking this was about "Trumpism", no it was about Newsome's incompetence.

I love the lack of audience. When you tell a joke and I find it funny, I get to chuckle without feeling the pressure to do a full belly laugh like the audience does. Or, if I laugh when you do or say something that the audience doesn't laugh at, I get mad at them for not laughing. I love hearing the crew get a chuckle out of you too!!! @@EB321 not the laugh track. Not like from a sitcom. But from the audience being prompted to laugh, sometimes they laugh harder than the joke calls for. Which makes it feel forced. I prefer genuine laughs. Like when Seth tells a joke and the crew doesn't laugh, it's actually refreshing.

I find as the late night comedians come out of the pandemic, audiences are a total distraction and annoying. Maybe I never really liked them, but everybody had one. It's sad to say, but I haven't watched much Colbert (whom I love) since he brought the audience back. I understand for the performers it's important, but for me watching on RU-vid, an audience is just an anachronism. So yeah, Seth, don't bring the audience back to your show!

Colbert is still good and you're missing out, but, I really wanna kill the guy who cranks up the audience and music intros and outros and then squashes the volume when he's talking. Correction: Horses don't smoke through their mouths, because they can't hold cigarettes with their hooves. Unlike cockroaches, which can hold cigarettes thanks to the two grasping toes on the ends of the foot-like protrusions, called tarsi (tarsus singular), which serve as feet on the ends of their tibias.
