From Ken's class in Feb 2020
This is the last video in the series. Many of us spend a lot of time training, but when it comes down to it, when we're under pressure, even under the relatively controlled conditions of chi sau, how many of us perform the way we train? Ken use to say that you'll know when you start trusting your hands when you fight with Wing Chun properly in your dreams. I remember not being able to do that in my early years of training, and these days I don't end up fighting in my dreams, so I guess I'll never know :)

Hey Alan, can you turn on the ability for "Community Contributions"? I'd like to add subtitles to the video, including a translation of the cantonese and mandarin that Sigung Ken uses. Thanks for filming this and uploading it!

@@alanngai123 Awesome, thanks! I submitted. Not sure if youtube or you are the ones to review. Did my best to include the chinese characters, pronunciation, and translations both in colloquial english as well as the literal word for word when it differed (and translations to cantonese when Sigung spoke mandarin)

Awesome clip, great demonstration by Ken showing that one needs to trust the structure and root to create the power through one's elbows and not using tension/reach to try to make something happen. Just wondering where can I find information on Ken's classes like this? thanks.

Glad you enjoyed it. Before the quarantine, Ken was teaching out of San Jose Wing Chun. You can do a google search to find more info. You can also do a search for Stanford Wing Chun which was where classes use to be held. Right now, there are no active classes unfortunately

Alan. Huge respect. Is there a jau Sao (running hand) in the Leung Sheung format?

Hi Brad, thanks. I suppose that depends on what you mean. It would exist in any Wing Chun I would think, but it's not a strategy or technique we emphasize or explicitly drill. If it happens, it happens as a result of filling a gap exposed by the opponent, and even then not in a way that would leave us open in return.
