I’m a Master Instructor for TRX Training and own a training business called BLAZE. About a year ago, I created a TRX class for my 80 year-old parents called SMOLDER, and it has taken off in popularity. This is a real time, 45-minute SMOLDER TRX class.
There is a huge need to offer classes like SMOLDER to encourage independence and confidence with our Seniors. Our Senior Athletes have been featured on the TRX Training website and social media outlets for their commitment and progress in such a short amount of time.
We work on a 360 degree approach to movement, centered around body awareness and understanding how our TRX exercises help us in everyday life. Our classes target posture, balance, coordination, stability, mobility, flexibility, endurance and strength.

Thank you. I just tried TRX for squats at our local Seniors gym. What a difference those straps make. I look forward to following your workout. I have osteoporosis and arthritis.

❤ I am so glad I found you. I’m a 71 yo retired fitness professional who has been working out for 40 years. Last year I suffered an injury which caused me to lose a lot of strength and mobility which I am having trouble recovering on my own. I’ve been wishing I had a trainer to call on that understands senior issues but still provides challenges. I’ll definitely be exploring your website and offerings. Thanks for this great TRX workout! Excellent instruction and an eye to safety and correct way to exercise, consistently reminding of form and muscles to focus on. I agree, that this class is really needed with our Seniors. I applaud you for focusing on an often forgotten sect of our population.

Just started a trx for seniors! Blessed the moment I found this presentation!! In 2016 was in wheel chair for 2 months! Tibia was injured. Then knee replacement on one knee in 2018 Second knee replacement last October. Yes ! During Covid!!! thank you for making my class make sense! And again....bless you!!!

Seldom can I actually recommend a you tube video to my patients. This one I can. Precise instructions. Great postural workout and great explanation how to progress the trx.

I recently joined a gym that has TRX equipment and so excited to try your routine. Currently I have one routine that I follow and it has made a big difference on how I feel. So glad I found your channel.

I am a 61 year old male. I have had both of shoulders replaced. I am familiar with Trx. Can you recommend some shoulder exercises?

Can you do this with resistance bands?

You can certainly experiment and do some of the moves with bands. However, the TRX straps are different in that they use gravity and your bodyweight as resistance, requiring you to stabilize your body throughout each movement, versus using elasticity. They’re just very different modalities.

@@kariwoodall3522 Kari I use both bands and TRX in my training of seniors in Mexico and just tried some of your exercises which are a little different than some I have seen on TRX company videos. While watching I did your Shoulder Press and Lunge overhead with arms overhead with bands too. Worked great. Loved the tweaks you did on toe raise with squat and plank with forearms in foot cradles and saw. They are things I can incorporate into my sessions. Several clients have shoulder issues (including me) like rotator cuff etc and so much of TRX is shoulder involved so am I really careful and experiment on myself before trying it on clients. Thanks for your informative well thought out video and best to you in future.
