Ah, jag vet inte....jag gillar så mycket denna polska, ukrainska och kinesiska versionerna också...men jag tror att jag verkligen gillar alla versionerna, jag kan inte bestämma mig! >.

Min favorit är såklart den engelska och jag älskar den japanska versionen. Den polska är den jag tycker sämst om. Men du har rätt, alla versionerna är bra så det är svårt att bestämma sig :)

Hahaha tvärtom, versionen gillar jag minst av alla är kanske japanska xD (nej, jag kan inte med typiska japanska röster, men jag vet det är ett problem av mine ~.~") Men den här gången finns där ingen version att jag verkligt gillar inte (så långt)!

Aw, long essay here >.< So...basically, it all starts from the fact that the Revised system went to replace the McCune-Reischauer because people, when using it, often substituted the _ŏ_ and _ŭ_ with normal _o_ and _u_ and often omitted apostrophes. For this reason, the Revised system was built to find a way to write Korean sounds without making use of any special character. Now, here comes the problem: I often have the chance of meeting people from many other countries who just started to study Korean, and my experience is that many of them easly mispronounce several sounds because the Revised system deceives them a lot (Seoul > Seul / p > b / t > d / k > g / etc.). The Revised system was thought for people who's (lazily) writing romanized Korean, while I think the McCune-Reischauer can help a lot more when read, as I think it is at least a bit less ambiguous for foreigners who know little to nothing of Korean pronunciation (just think that in history or art books, the McCune-Reischauer is still much more widely used), and as long as *I* won't skip its special characters, they'll give a much plainer and immediate reading than their revised equivalents _eo_, _eu_ and the rest. That's basically why I prefer the McCune-Reischauer over the Revised ^^"

I just started to learn Korean (because of my love for Kpop and drama but for now, I can only read the characters) and I really prefer the Revised Romanization as the characters from my book uses it and I kinda like the way how its spelled. But the McCune-Reischauer also is useful in sounds. Thanks anyways! :D (P.S When did you start learning Korean?)

I think the Revised can be good if you know its rules, while the McCune-Reischauer is fairly intuitive even if you don't know the first thing of how it works (which is the situation concerning a good part of the people watching this video). I started to study it about two years ago, but don't be misled: I'm still quite bad at it ^^"

ohhh okay well you seem very good to me :p I find the hardest part about subs&trans videos is actually just figuring out what they're singing. Not sure about Korean but for Mandarin, you'd have to have an advanced skill level for that because the tones are lost when sung. Anyway, thanks for the explanation! I just got a bit confused because in Chinese there is only one standardised way of romanisation (called pinyin). And yes, I understand what you mean by "p > b / t > d / k > g" ;) ohmygod that's so cool how you're in Seoul!!! I'm so jealous :p How is it there? ^_^

Hahaha glad I *seem* good, at least xD Well, Korean doesn't have tones, but still, the only way I have to translate lyrics is to find them written by somebody else somewhere, since I'm not able at all to write them down on my own! I do this with all the languages I study and even with Italian! If I have the chance to read the lyrics from an official source (such as DVD subtitles, where they sometimes write the adapted lyrics, instead of translating the original) I prefer to double-check them! And yes, I know that the fact I use a different transliteration can confuse, but I still prefer doing so ^^" Hot. Here it's pretty hot, when rain is not pouring down xD Yet, albeit a bit chaotic, I like this city, and sure I feel really lucky to be here ^-^

Are you studying or working in Seoul? Have you done some sightseeing? Rest assured that you will pick up a lot of Korean ;) English is not as common in Asian countries as Europe. But hey it must be really different compared to Italy, the vibes from an Asian country is totally different to the western world ^_^ The rest of my family is going to Korea & Japan at the end of this year but I'm missing out, sooo upset :'(

This whole song in general is not exactly my cup of tea, so it's something I wouldn't listen to every day of my life, no matter the version. This said, I think my favourite version is the Ukrainian one, it's the only one which gives me some feels.
