Meanwhile, someone claimed they didn't watch the show, but straight up “guessed” things that haven't revealed or hinted yet (The show revealed a small and fast titan that looked like a goblin/monkey, can climb, and has sharp claws and teeth. That dude: “I don't know what it called, but I'll call it the *Jaw* titan, even tho it never did anything or have anything that highlight it's *Jaw* to be named the *Jaw* titan)

I learned from my mistakes, with Annie, but I had no idea the first one was Eren. Even when he came out of the nape, I was still confused for a couple minutes 😭😭😭

I knew it was Eren, mainly because they wouldn't kill off the main character that early on, but I had no idea that that was Annie. To be fair, idk what I was thinking but when her reveal came I was like 'who?'. Like I remembered Bertholdt and Reiner but had no idea who Annie was

I couldn't guess Annie either. I remembered first time reading the manga, Isayama make me like most of the characters so much that I totally didn't want to believe there's traitor among them, so when they first suspected there were outsider among them, I literally don't suspect anyone just because I like them to much. (I'm talking about the manga, the anime literally just gloss over most character.)

I think the reason why some of us didn't realize it was eren because to some of us, it was the first anime we had. we don't know how anime works yet. It's like, we don't know the fact that main character's can't die early in the game. Same thing with annie reveal, I didn't realize it was her until they confirmed it.

Honestly, I didn't get knowing Eren was the Titan or how that even fucking made sense or would even be a thought. Also, didn't sus Annie. I guess these things are obvious in a show where you are expecting "twists", but I think mostly everybody who watches this without that pretense is just genuinely caught off guard. Like I've seen Ned Starks head go flying in GoT, I think it's possible Eren could die this early. This show does a good job of not ensuring you as to wtf you think are you watching at any given episode.

6:06 Anime only actually had weeks to make theories and predictions about this. When I first read the manga, I had no idea and before I can formulate anything, Eren was already revealed. I think I like that better tbh. Same goes for Annie, you can say "But she looks like her!" Yeah, but I read it all in one sitting which means the story doesn't stop moving for me to take a pause and think that way.

I was also one of the people who thought the black haired titan wasn't eren because of the same reason as you. I didn't think they were actually people. I learned from that mistake and thought through who the female titan was. I thought it was Christa for a while since she also has blond hair and she's just putting that good girl act but when I saw that she appears with Armin or Jean's horse(? can't remember whose horse that was) on the opposite direction where the female titan went, I didn't suspect her anymore. I actually forgot that Annie was also blond so I didn't suspect her. I don't usually look at and remember anyone's hair color.

i dont blame you for not knowing the titans identity with eren and annie, when the show first came out they made the wise decision of not actually giving too much information about the AOT world. When the show first came out, many people just thought the show was about just gigantic zombie like being. although it was obvious to some, many people just focused on the horrific plots of AOT and how any character can die. No one really paid attention to the complex nature of what this show is actually about until more information was given in the next season.

Tbh even though i knew going into the show that Eren turned into a titan at one point, the reveal of his titan came as a total surprise to me, same as for the Female Titan.
