This week I try some varieties of paper clips to make them Tabs and also with a little pocket. I got the idea from this video: • My Tutorial for Paperc... Etsy Shop: www.etsy.com/shop/FriendlyQuail
Love your videos. Thank you. I also want to express my gratitude for your courage to talk about depression. I wish more people were willing to share because it helps reduce the stigmatism. I think it helps those who also deal with mental health challenges to not feel alone. ❤😊
Thank you for watching. I'm glad you enjoy my videos. Depression has been a part of my life for as long as I remember. I don't feel it is a failing any more than other illnesses. It's how my brain is wired, and my mother had, and some siblings have it, too. You are right that it can be stigmatized! I do think it is getting better. Still has a ways to go though! Hugs!
@emilyj8967 hugs to you! I guess a new person watching doesn't know anything about me, so I see where you could be surprised. But if you hang around any length of time you might hear more than you ever wanted to know. LOL
I’ve battled it since I was little… really little. I am on medicine for it but I can still feel it when it hits. I’ll go for a few weeks feeling fine then just lose all will to do my crafts or anything else. Then it’ll lift after a while. I hate it.
Your channel just showed up on my feed and so I watched this video and subscribed. I absolutely love your chatter! I'm commenting on my phone while watching on my TV. Love it! ❤
Loved this tutorial hun! YOU my dear, have a lovely way of teaching & inspiring us too! I found my love of crafting during lockdown here in the UK as Covid19 hit the world ! I also learned to crochet, but making books & ephemera ( from pretty papers & recycled ceareal boxes , envelopes etc) is so therapeutic to me too! Keep up with your amazing talents & brill positivity too hun... We def need more like minded, inspiring tutors like you! ❤❤❤X
Thank you! You made me blush! I find working with my hands to be like meditation. My husband says when I go in my studio, he doesn't know if I'll ever come out. LOL! I love it so much! I have done needlework since I was 9 years old. Crocheting, knitting, embroidery, quilting, etc. Since I started making journals, I don't want to do anything else. I'm so glad you found me!
Hi! New to your channel. Loved what you crafted today! Fellow recently retired teacher here! Started my channel in march and it has become such a passion! Love finding such talented, real to life people like yourself! It is so exciting to meet a new friend! ❤
I just found your channel & read your bio. I'm sorry to learn you lost a son to cancer. I have lost two sons already, so I know the struggle to go on. I think junk journalling was a good choice for both of us to have something creative to focus on, yet it's a forgiving hobby not requiring perfection. Thank you for your instructions.
Thank you. You touched my heart. I'm so sorry you lost your sons, too. I agree that being creative helps us to focus on other things. I try to stay positive and live every day to the fullest since he did not get to.
I just retired from teaching Fifth grade. 11-year-old boys were my favorite. I miss them already. Love your channel. Maybe I can adapt to retirement after all. God bless you.
I taught every grade from 3rd to 12th at one point since I had 3 different certifications. Loved those middle schoolers! You'll love retirement though- just do things every day that you love to do! (And these videos are my way of still being a teacher!)
@@friendlyquail what a wonderful way to stay involved. My situation is though that I don’t have any solitude or quiet time at home so I kind of have to pick stuff. I can be distracted during or interrupted while I’m doing it which is really frustrating for a person like me… But I know I have to adapt to this new stage in life although I think of my classroom all the time and I’m hoping in the fall it won’t just be awful trying to figure out how to live my life without going back in that wonderful music room. But I know it’s all blessing and I shouldn’t complain and so I won’t. Thank you so much for sharing. It means a lot to those of us who are kind of at loose ends.
I did one with you while watching this video... I need to get better at it... so a bit of practice is in my future... I appreciate you making this video this is really neat. Thank you for sharing.
Hi Carol, You showed up on my feed and I watched your video and subscribed! 😂. I just love those hidden paper clip tags, the added little pocket on the front is something I would of never thought of. The texture you achieved coffee dying that matte paper is great, really looks like leather. You should do a video on that. Thank you for the inspiration! I also struggle with depression so I totally understand where your coming from. 🌻
I had to go look. Hers are slightly different but same idea. I put the video I watched in the description. I saw paperclips similar on Two Old Crows, and Sparkbird Studios, as I said in the video, but the ones with the tabs were from Moira Grey. Treasure Books is an amazing channel. Thanks!
100% agree it’s addictive. One thing is my clips are 2” long and sometimes the length of the cardstock folds don’t match up… one fold is longer than the other although it’s all covered up. May be it’s me. I’ll make more for sure. PS: just read the comment about your ordeal. I’m so very sorry for what you’ve endured 😢My sincere prayers for your strength and peace 🙏🏼
Just make a minor adjustment in the length of the original length of the paper. Try 7 and 5/8 instead of 7 and 1/2. Some of mine had that, too, but it's inside the pocket, so you don't see it. Play with it. 😀 And thank you for your concern.
I just noticed that your cigar label one did have uneven edges but still works fine. You’re so kind to respond so quickly every time. Truly grateful 🙏🏼
Btw, if you haven’t seen Louise Hay’s videos on positive affirmations and healing etc, please check them out. She was an incredible inspiring woman who lived till 91 despite early struggles of abuse etc. But her positive thinking, spiritual videos and books have gone viral. Free videos on YT. Very soothing voice too. I’m a person of faith but I am more into spirituality, compassion, kindness etc. Doing yoga meditation and listening to such videos give me peace and joy. Plus my art/crafts when time permits after my day job adds immensely to my well being. Best wishes to you ❤.
Hi I’m new to your channel, I just found you by scrolling through, and thought your video sounded interesting. I think these are very sweet, and a great addition to junk journals.❤
It is a retired Stampin' Up whale tail punch. I paid dearly for it on eBay. Mine was never used, and it works like a dream! I see that there are whale tail punches on Amazon now, but I don't know how well they work since I haven't used them.
It is in the description. Under the title you should see a little word, "more". Click on that. There is her title after a RU-vid red icon. Says "My tutorial for..." sometimes you have to hit another word, "more"
Do you mean the material? Coffee dyed cardstock, and faux leather made from Amazon packing paper. I'm lucky to have a whale tail punch. Before I found it, I just cut them out myself. Thanks for watching!
I have one of the old Stampin' Up punches, which I paid dearly for on ebay. It had never been used and it works so well. I heard someone is making a new one now but don't really know anything about it.
@@friendlyquail thank you so much for the response!! I ordered one just now. I really love that touch. It has many possibilities. Thank you so much for your video!
