Majority of Indians are actually predominantly non vegetarians. The majority of (North) Indian cuisine is just chicken/mutton dishes where the meat is replaced with Cottage Cheese. South Indian Vegetarian cuisine is actually good.

Same here. I think you are correct, those vegan meat products are pretty new and are quite expensive because only a few companies make them. I like them well enough, but I try to avoid plant-based products masquerading as meat because of the cost, but I’ll splurge if we have a cookout or something. I still prefer to cook dishes that have always been meatless (I’m not a vegan), so I do make a lot of Indian food. I am lucky to have several Indian/Nepalese markets near me, but they don’t have the variety of convenience food like DancingBacons shows here. I’d love to try some.

lets not forget the ingredients used to make them, some of those can be harmful to your health. Also, never trust a lunchable, even at your school lunch, ok?

Many of the local grocery stores here stopped selling it as the demand was low, probably due to the price.

Well in India there are 1000 different variety of sweets. Not all are sweet. Most have a very low sweet rate because mostly many Indian don't have excessive sweet taste rather prefer the other side.

Depends on the sweet and region, really. If u r worried about the sugar content, try sweets made from jaggery: unprocessed cane sugar and white sugar's somewhat "healthier" avatar. That said, moderation is the key when consuming any kind of sweet.

Coz they’re supposed to be eaten in very tiny portions and very occasionally like on celebrations & festival. Like just one piece per person. Sugar isn’t a regular part of diet. Like, if you’re eating something sweet, people will ask you what’s the occasion, what are we celebrating

There are Indian sweets that aren't very sweet like Rasgulla, or Gulab jamun, something like Kaju katli isn't as sweet as other two but one the best Indian sweet

They are just trying frozen food . It's not their regular meals. They just made for convenience. How ignorant can u be. You think India is the only country that has freshly cooked meals. 😂 Even I try frozen food at supermarkets just for o Fun. You are the one to be pitied. Have no experience in the outside world just living in a well thinking it is the world, travel some! Then you can actually see the world.

yeah, because one time eating is ohk but for everyday don't eat frozen food, we eat fresh well cooked food at home for better health in future. that's why we indians don't eat frozen food often.

Small farms are going bye bye along with gov subsidizing crops over others so the farmer goes with what makes money. Sad really...so we get cheap corn lettuce and tomatoes. Fun for burgers

In the US, there’s a decent demand for plant-based meat substitutes, plus they are relatively new, so their prices are really high. Same with plant-based cheese. I agree that there are far cheaper options as a vegetarian, like lentils and beans. But if you are going to a picnic or cookout, it is nice to bring plant based burgers or vegan hot dogs. It is nice to have convenience foods on occasion for those days when you are too tired to make a curry.
