One YEAR update ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-R1drYnzgewY.html What I SPEND in a Week living in NYC ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-1rMKHYY_x5M.html
A little update. My back got used to the kneeling chair I got and hurts less. However, my knees started hurting. I'm thinking of a saddle chair now - it has the same benefits for the posture but doesn't put stress on the knees. However, it's also more complicated because it also requires a higher desk. So I guess I'm saving for an adjustable height desk and a saddle chair.
Karen v Richards. Did a 5 year long study About how hunching over can be beneficial And we all know that when we're in that school chair we're always slouching and leaning back cause it feels more comfortable then being fully upright. You can check out this study even more but yeah.
Rocking kneeling chair is counter productive. The purpose of a kneeling chair is to keep your back straight by forcing your center of gravity forward but, the rocking of the chair allows for center of gravity movement. The static chairs will keep you upright, unless you are leaning on the desk.
My friend let me borrow this style chair. I looked up the chair cause I like it and it’s almost $300. I am petite and I agree it’s for taller ppl. For the brand I borrowed it says you can turn the seat cushion around to have the longer side in the front and make it fit better for shorter ppl
I didn't know this type of chair existed until you showed it in your instagram story! So interesting to hear about your experience with it - it's awesome that you were able to find a cheaper dupe. I actually like the red lol
I’m so glad I found a cheaper version to try because if by chance I didn’t like it, that would’ve been so disappointing to have spent $250 on it! Ya know it’s actually not a bad color, maybe I’ll wait a little before deciding if I want to find something to cover it. I really like this shade of wood too!
You said lifestyle on a budget? *subscribes* Also, I am interested in improving posture and am among the trailer people you said it may work for. That price makes me want to give it a try myself. Thank you for the review and insight.
This is so helpful! I am trying to decide if I should buy one and I came across the same video with the doctor saying it's a scam. So hearing your dancer's perspective is great, as I am one too, and 5'3". :) Great point that it is ultimately up to you to be in tune with your body and notice if you are hollowing your back. What kind of shade is the fabric? I cannot tell if it is a bright red or a little orangey.
I've actually been trying a kneeling chair for a few days now, and I found your video because I was curious on other people's experience. I got myself a non-rocking chair with a gas cylinder which allows to adjust the height/angle of the seat quickly. The chair definitely helps with posture, but I haven't fully got used to it yet. My experience with a normal office chair varies: my posture is far from perfect, but sometimes I sit like that all day and I'm fine, but sometimes I get lower back pain really early in the day. So far, I'm not free from lower back pain with my kneeling chair, but I also know I need some time to adjust. Guess I'll have to use it for a month or so before I decide if it's good for me. I so hope it does, honestly %)
Hmm that’s interesting some days you have lower back pain and other times you don’t. I wonder if your pelvis is arching forward and that’s causing the pain or the opposite, its tucked under. (This is just my dancer brain talking lol) I hope the more you use your chair you’ll find the right balance as you adjust. It’s a learning curve for sure!
@@HeyitsKimberlee I haven't figured out any pattern. Sometimes I sit with an arched back (my back against the back rest, my lower back unsupported), and it's fine. Sometimes it aches almost from the beginning. I'm trying to switch between using the back rest and sitting upright, but if my back started to ache, it's usually to no avail. I'll try to sit more on my kneeling chair when I work. I'm a translator, and I have to type a lot.
@@vlogswithvy I think I got used to sitting upright in my saddle chair, but in a regular chair, I slouch as I always did. So it's not a solution to fix your body, rather to make it easier to sit upright and prevent back pain.
@@OlgaFyodorova Can you please share the brand? It sounds good that it has a gas cylinder to adjust height as I’m petite and would definitely need to do that 😅
You will probably find that keeping legs in a bent position like this chair does is not good for your hamstrings and they will be tighter if you sit like this for a long time. It is cool tho.
Omg, talking about ergonomics and your desk setup is horrific. Try to have proper posture and sit up straight and the top of your laptop screen is 18” too low. Not to mention the angle of your keyboard, completely awful for your wrists. Guessing you don’t spend 8 hours a day sitting there otherwise your body would be sore in so many places 😕
