I have tried the neutrogena water gel and I love it.. I use it after using a toner and serum at night. I tried the elf and not really a fan of it too much. But the canna b serum all in one with sunscreen I really like. Morning face cleanser, toner, and the canna b by garnier. Evening- cleaner toner my personal serum and the. Hydro boost. Thank you. I am working on some areas on my face that has hyperpigmentation. Do you recommend anything for that?
@@queeng3057 awesome! Yes, there’s a playlist on getting rid of hyperpigmentation on my channel: ru-vid.com/group/PLtL9S7jYiBcM2Lut0AjDwA-05E4bvUWLk and this one on how viewers got rid of their hyperpigmentation: ru-vid.com/group/PLtL9S7jYiBcNSMyQQFLF7Pi3NZMYxSkMo
I for one am thankful for all of your sunscreen content! Your skin tone, type and undertone are nearly identical to mine so when you test products for invisibility, shine control, etc. it's super helpful! And the fact that you're budget conscious about sun protection too is so awesome - because whilst I love to splurge on nicer sunscreens every now & then, I refuse to pay $30+ for tiny 50 mL bottles for my giant head 🥲😭)

Catching up on all the video's I've missed!! I haven't really been wearing moisturizer this summer, because my sunscreen has been doing double service, but I think I might wanna try one of those neutrogena options.
Thanks 😊 for all your suggestions!!! I tried to cetaphil 50 + it stings my eyes and leaves a white cast . I’m definitely going to buy the garnier . It’s a better option in my book
Omigoodness! This is such a great product for me even though it does leave the skin looking a bit dewy. I've noticed that my skin itself (without any product) has reduced the production of excess sebum! I noticed that effect not even a week after starting it...😊 Edit: ive tried the other formulation: Niacina-B here in Canada.
I really enjoyed watching this 😅😀 I am on the look for more affordable products so I do have my eyes on the holy hydration from Elf.. also, Neutrogena hydroboost is going to be another one I may try out 💕
i’ve been using the Cetaphil oil absorbing spf moisturizer. My skin looks so pretty at night when i put on regular lotion. in the morning as soon as i put on the oil absorbing spf it looks sooo ugly. It makes my pores look bigger, it enhances my redness and it just makes my skin looks so oily. I put on the smallest amount too. If it works for you then great but i def do not recommend and I’m looking for a different spf.
Cetaphil moisturizer with spf 30 made me cry 😭 horrible if you’re working out. I actually had to excuse myself during an interview because my left eye was burning so bad. ❌
Love when I see the products that I'm using in my fav Skincare expert's "Best of" videos. Feels good to know that I'm making the correct choices for my skin 😊
Hey hey Danielle thanks for the video. My skin is on the normal to dry side but I appreciate the notes. Using a cetaphil moisturizer at the moment but would like to try a combination moisturizer with spf.
I work in an office 5 days a week, but I take public transportation. I am sometime acc standing at the bus stop for 35 to 45 mins. or more. I live in a very humid climate (Charleston, SC) and the heat index can be up to 100. I am also turned 53 recently, a good moisturizer with SPF would be good and something for breakouts. I currently use CAUDALIE sorbet cream. I am having fewer breakouts. I have heard some good things about SUPERGOOP sunscreen. What do you think would be good for our strong Charleston southern sun?
Which ones is better to wear under makeup? I need one that won’t mess up my makeup but I have super oily skin it’s hard to find a moisturizer that won’t make my skin more oily and doesn’t make my makeup look bad
I don’t like using moisturizer because my face gets extremely oily and I never really used sunscreen. I’m 40yrs old medium dark skin woman. Is it really necessary and if so is it too late to start to see an improvement in my skin
Love your videos. Wondering if there are certain actives that are better for dry climates. I live in Vegas. Just learned that hyaluronic acid is bad for dry climates because it needs moisture in the air.
thank you! glycerin is a good ingredient to look for---it's hydrating but doesn't have the pulling the hydration from your skin issue like HA has. You also may want to look into "slugging" at night. It's basically adding something occlusive on top of your skin to really lock in the hydration.
My skin is so oily and in NY is so humid at times if you had to choose which sun screen do you recommend I purchase ?! I’m thinking about the super goop Matte 🤔
heyyy---the supergoop matte is a mineral sunscreen---do you prefer mineral? I reviewed that one and it didn't look so great on my skin because of the white cast. It wasn't terrible, but also not amazing.

What you need for oily skin is a hydrator not a moisturizer there's a difference hydrator brings water to the skin stops the sebum from pumping as much I'm an esthetician
It's hard to discuss ingredients on this channel because everyone's skin is different and reacts differently to certain ingredients. Besides, talking through the ingredient list is not going to be a final say in how the product is going to perform on your skin. And I did actually talk about how each product worked on my skin in the video.
Hi, I am currently using Cetaphil moisturizer lotion with spf25 for my oily skin. I just wonder as this moisturizer coming with uv protection do I need to apply sunscreen after that?
hey! you don’t need to put additional sunscreen on if your moisturizer has sunscreen. just make sure you put on enough of it (2 mg of sunscreen per cm2 of skin-or about 1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon for face, neck, and ears; about a shot glass full-give or take-for the neck down)
@@styleandbeautydoctor Big thanks to your reply! Really appreciate that. I've been wonder for a month since I use that moisturizer. Thanks once again! 👍🏻
It also depends how much sun protection you're looking for. 25 is nothing. I use tretinoin and have virtually no wrinkles and plan on keeping it that way so I don't buy fave moisturizers with the sunscreen. I get a seperate sunscreen that's at the bare minimum 35 if I'm gonna be outside briefly and 50-100 if I'm gonna be outside for a longer period. Remember too that sunscreen should be reapplied every 2-3 hours when outside.
Yes, but you have to be mindful of what the news actually is: there were some aerosol sunscreens that they recalled from Aveeno and Neutrogena. That doesn't mean all of the products are caught up in that.
Danielle is alway right on time! I’ve been curious about the Neutrogena lotion so I’m going to give it and the ELF a chance. I had a similar experience with the Cetaphil spf formula. Made my eyes burn and I wasn’t even working out (even though I need to lol). Thanks for sharing Danielle!❤️

Heyyy! All skin types need moisturizer---if you have oily skin there are lightweight moisturizers like the ones I tried in the video that can moisturize your skin, prevent water loss (water loss can lead to issues like dehydrated skin which can lead to an impaired skin barrier). But yes, we all need sunscreen---even those of us with darker skin for a host of reasons including that sun exposure worsens pigmentation (meaning your dark spots if you have them or get them are harder to fade), it ages the skin faster including the skin's texture and elasticity. But good thing is it's not too late---you can start wearing sunscreen daily to avoid future damage.
I think I gonna try the Cetaphil with sunscreen. I am trying to condense my steps in my morning skincare routine. Btw I love your channel it is so informative and just get a kick out of your giggle! God bless you !
I had an awful allergic reaction to the hydroboost 😭😭😭. I also don't like the Cetaphil sunscreen but it cost so much I'm trying not to throw it away but this confirmed I should
@@mirahs.5918 you can still use it on your body as long as it’s moisturizing enough for your body skin. Or use it on your hands. That way it doesn’t go to waste.
Am dark skinned with adry skin and dark circles around ma eyes and cheeks, wc moisturizer can I use to help me get rid of da darks circles and keep ma skin smooth &soft
I ordered the Elf Holy Hydration yesterday from Target and it arrived today. So far so good. I forgot to order the fragrance free but the fragrance isn't bad at all. Thanks for the suggestions!
@@styleandbeautydoctor 😩 it broke me out. I had to reach out to my dermatologist from Curology/The Agency and she sent me a list of ingredients to look out for that clogs pores. The Elf moisturizer was full of them so I stopped using it a few days ago.
I've tried the Cetaphil Oil Control SPF 30 Moisturizer. My skin is combination. Oily sometimes, dry other times because I use a prescription retinoid at night. I like it. I agree with your review. I've purchased sooo many sunscreens. I'm currently trying out the Paula's Choice resist skin restoring moisturizer spf 50. So far so good for that one. Anyhoo...I will be heading to Cabo San Lucas in two weeks for a 2 weeks vacay. Can't wait.
I love the Neutrogena oil free. I was bored with it at first, but I’m a bit more intentional with my treatment step now. So I want a moisturizer to just do that one thing and it’s perfect! I love the hydro boost on my body, not so much on my face. I’m still working on my relationship with hyaluronic acid. The Cetaphil Oil control made my skin a bit bumpy/ have a rash! But many sunscreens do that to me. The Daily facial moisturizer was much better, non irritating as it says on the label, but it made me really shiny…expected since my skin is not dry. I took the shine over irritation though, until I found a better sunscreen:) I might try the e.l.f but I probably will avoid the garnier on account of shine😂
