Kewpie's soft and squeezy bottle is so you can pipe decorative lines of mayonnaise over dishes for presentation. In Asia the bottles came with two tips, one under the other; the first is a fine piping tip (like the one you used), the second kind was a star-shaped piping tip.

Kewpie tastes really nice with fish. Like with smoked salmon on bread, or mixed with canned tuna on rice. I still use normal mayonaise for most other things though.

If you pealed the safety seal off of the kewpie you would have seen the second star shape underneath. The cap has the small tip, but if you take the tip off you can you the star dispenser. Fine lines (cap) and dollops (no cap). Love kewpie on my subs and chicken burgers!

It’s pronounced Q-P. It’s named for the kewpie doll on the label. These dolls were popular before you were born 😂. Often they were prizes kids won at fairs.

Take some kewpie mayo, a few dashes of soy sauce, a few dashes of toasted sesame oil, some black pepper and maybe hot sauce if you'd like, mix it all up and you have an amazing dipping sauce for grilled shrimp, salmon, etc.

Have you ever tried McCormick Mayonesa? It's basically mayonnaise with a hint of lime. It's popular in Mexico on tacos and whatnot. Wasn't sure about it but it actually tastes really good to me.

My nephew and I were converted to kewpie from Best foods (Hellman's) and we use it on everything we need mayo for but the rest of the family still use Best foods. Oh and kewpie is hard to find but I found it at Costco it's a bigger bottle for 6 bucks

I’m a dukes user, do like the kewpie as well, but I seem to grab the dukes naturally. I do like the kewpie squeeze bottle though.

You've discovered something wonderful IMO, this is all I use anymore. If you want to try something a little spicy, make Chipolte Mayo, "Q-pee" plus Chipoltes in adobo sauce... great in a wrap or Jalapeno Burger!!!

The white colour of most industrial mayo is down to the amount of water and egg white vs egg yolk and oil. higher water means paler. I've always made my own Mayo as it takes like 5 minutes, lasts for about a week in the fridge (I use pasturised egg yolks) and tasts amazing vs the wildly offputting stuff helmens and stuff put out. its super simple, 2 egg yolks, 2 teaspoons of vinegar, oil and whisk until combined. pour oil slowly or use a stick blender to emulsify all at once. pinch of salt to taste. can add a teaspoon of mustard if you want. honestly, you'll never buy it again. I use lemon juice sometiems instead of vinegar as its fresher and lighter tasting.

I'd prefer a mayonnaise tasting like mayonnaise. Not having that clear vinegar kick would defeat the use of the mayo itself for me. Then again the mayonnaise in Sweden is not as light in color as mayonnaise I see coming from abroad, so perhaps the one we have here is somewhere in between Japanese and American? I always found it weird seeing very pale mayo when I grew up with one that has a yellowish color, but it still has the vinegar-tang that you associate with mayonnaise.

Kewpie also contains MSG which will help bring out the flavor of whatever you put it on. Hence why I think your egg salad with Kewpie tasted more eggy

I've never tried kewpie. Im poor so it's usually the cheapest mayo for me. What i really hate is when i ask my olelady to hand me the mayo she gives me salad dressing or miracle whip. She says its the same thing your weird. I might be weird but It's not MAYO DAMNIT😊 i cant stand it.

I hated mayo as a kid. At some point in my 20s, though, I tried it on a turkey sandwich and now I love it. Weird. Tastes change as you get older I guess.

I tried kewpie and it's over priced and overrated. At least for my tastes and I go through a lot of mayonnaise. Duke's is my favorite.

What kind of oil is used? That’s the main ingredient in Mayo not the eggs. Soy oil is toxic industrial waste sludge
